Valentin Imperial Maya Brides?

I am using pink and orange as my color scheme with splashes of turquoise blue and white as an accent.  Pink and orange are my favorite colors so it was easy for me to choose!  Google color schemes! there is a lot of inspiration online!

I've been reading this thread and can't believe there are so many additional costs!  I was definitely unaware of the additional open bar cost for the cocktail hour! This was never mentioned when we were talking about the packages! Oh well! : )

I'm starting to figure out my color scheme and am so overwhelmed!!  Ana has sent me some catalogs but I don't even know where to begin! Any tips??

I searched for invitations and save the dates online to see what I liked, then picked my colors off the stationary set that I liked. I used www.weddingpaperdivas.com to order all of my paper products and was really pleased with the products and service. They also let you sign up for a free wedding website that has the same wallpaper pattern as your paper suite. I liked this feature, but already had my website in place. Looking at the invites also helped me decide what I wanted to feel of the wedding to be, (calm, cool relaxed may be blues and greens), (vivid oranges, pinks and reds for a lively/festive wedding), (maybe turquoise, red and orange if you want it to feel ecclectic). I would take a look and see if it helps any.

I am going with white cake, top two tears with a lemon filling, bottom tier infused with rum and orange. We decided to please ourselves with the cake, I know those flavors won't be for everyone, but there are other dessert options anyway.

Hi!

My overlays are light blue.  I think on page 81 there is a picture of my centerpieces, the overlay is what is underneath.  You can absolutely use them if you would like!  We are having a rehearsal cocktail party the night before our wedding. The cost is $24pp for open bar and apps.  I'm pretty sure no matter what type of private event you have there, the open bar is $20pp.  (ex. cocktail hour is additional $20pp)

I was a little annoyed at first when I found out there is a charge for cocktail hour but after a while I got over it. Still a lot less than what we would be paying in NJ.

Let me know if you need anything else!  What day are you guys going down there?  We're heading down Tuesday afternoon.  can't believe how fast its coming up! 79 days !!!!

Since we're getting married the same weekend...what color are your overlays? I'm wondering if we could share some decor?

Also, did Ana or Veronica say anything to you about the open bar costs? I wasn't aware that there would be any additional cost for alcohol.

Less than 90 days!! Ahhh!

I am confused - What constitutes "open bar" at an all-inclusive resort?? Veronica has never mentioned this to me. If we don't do the open bar, what do our guests get???

The open bar is for private events, Meaning your basically paying for the private event...bartenders, waiters, set up, chairs and tables etc...  Its not really something they exactly mentioned but what we all just seemed to figure out.  I was very annoyed about this at first being that its "all inclusive".  But I guess it makes sense being that they do everything for you. And from what I've heard, they do a really good job.

I thought that's why I was paying for the wedding package. I'm fully happy to pay for the set up and extra staff to service our wedding, but I just thought that's part of the package we're purchasing. Did you purchase a package?

Veronica has said we will have a private event on the terrace and has made no mention of an open bar charge. It's getting to close to the day, these extra charges are getting super frustrating when they keep popping up. It makes it very difficult to budget.

What do our guests drink if we don't pay this extra charge?

JBean, which package did you purchase?  We did the highest one, the Unforgetable I think, and a cocktail hour the day of the wedding is included in the package.  If we want to do a private event on a day other than the wedding we have to pay extra.  If you don't have the cocktail hour included in your package or you want to do an event on another day you still get the all-inclusive drinks at any of the bars or restaurants it just won't be a private event unless you pay the extra.  We are just going to have our group meet in the the plaza for drinks on the days before the wedding instead of paying the extra for a private party.  Hope this helps.  : )

Thank you! That clears things up. We are doing the middle package which includes the cocktail hour and everything is supposed to be private.

Guest iluckie

Graciela, I just wanted to give you my point of view, from a photographer,

Barcelo: this is a great option, the place has plenty of options for pictures.

Royal cancun: this resort is smile in design, does not have lots of spots and it is small compared, let say, with Barcelo with is huge!

Iberostar, the same comment than the Barcelo

Moon Palace: the same comment than the Royal Cancun.

Valentin, my favorite option so far, then would be Iberostar and then Barcelo.

Actually the best of them that treat us good as photographers is Barcelo, Iberostar.

who will charge you nothing for the outside vendor to com in the private property: Iberostar

please PM me if you need more information, also I can help with some DJ, Videographer that will make your data  real experience.

Cheers!

Ivan!

The wedding package price includes the open bar and everything else. Sorry if I confused you.  However, you do have to pay per person if you go over the amount of people in your package.  If you dont go over then you're good :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
