Valentin Imperial Maya Brides?

That is great!! we will have to meet for a quick hello sometime while we are down there! because I'm sure we will both be busy bees!!

As far as wedding package, I am a little confused. I qualify for the complimentary package, but I also was looking into "unforgettable" package that includes dinner for 25 people. I guess there really was not point in trying to qualify for the "complimentary" package if it doesn't include what I need.

I love your centerpieces idea. That's a great way to cut costs!

How many people are coming down for your wedding?

Are you doing a wedding package? Our package includes 25 ppl, private reception on the Mexican Terrace. As far as I know, we only have to pay extra for any one over 25 people. She hasn't mentioned anything to me about drinks, so I'm assuming it's included.

We are also skipping the DJ and using the bridesmaids bouquets as centrepieces to save costs.

So far the negotiations with me are slim to none, and I agree about some of the things the packages include.

I think cutting the cocktail hour is fine! I mean, if you want it, then do it, but i don't think it's necessary. Everyone can go to the same bar, it would practically be the same thing.

My FI and I chose to have a DW to save money but I might as well have a wedding in the states bc i do not see how I am saving. Does anyone feel in the packages they include unnecessary services that you are already paying some how? Are they negotiating with anyone or giving anyone breaks? I am trying to figure out how to cut costs, any suggestions I would love to hear.

So far I am excluding flower centerpieces and just having the boutineer for groom and just having boutquetsfor me and my girls . I am thinking of possibly cutting out the cocktail hour and I was thinking while I take pictures the guests can go to restaurant or bar since its all inclusive then meet for the private reception at a certain time. What does anyone think of this idea? OK or bad? I just cant believe how much they charge for appetizers, alcohol, cake, champagne and dinner per person after the amount included in the package when it is already all inclusive. My guests love to dance so I need to have a DJ. What decorations are you bringing and how are you getting them there? They charge for every little thing. How else can you save money?

Thanks Ladies!!!!

We have exactly 25 right now, but we're expecting about 35.

MrsAlmaquer - $300??? I had heard $100. We are also having an outside photographer. Dear god I hope it's not $300 - that's RIDICULOUS!

I am so glad I am not alone on this.  I am really happy with the service and the hotel so far, but I am being overwhelmed with the extra cost of things for the wedding.  We expect to have approx. 50 people attending all staying at the hotel.  It is very frustrating especially knowing what other hotels that are comparable comp. for their brides.  I am trying to just suck it up and move forward, but I agree that it is def overboard.

They're 3 cylindrial vases on the table in varying sizes. I will post a pic tommorow :)

I thought it was $100?!?! I was never told this by her, but I thought it was listed somewhere in this thread. $300 is ridiculous!!  I might as well just pay for the photographer to stay overnight - it'll probably be cheaper!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
