Valentin Imperial Maya Brides?

Recommended Posts

Jamie,

We chose the "Once in a Lifetime" package.  There are lots of things to figure out, but you can do so much of it on the spot!  I was all stressed about making every little decision, but I've given up and will just handle most things once I get there...like the stereo system, etc.  I haven't even picked out my cake or my flowers yet.

Hi girls. Well I wrote the woman from Planner 1 that supplies the chairs to the Valentin. Here is her answer:

Hi Heidi!

Thanks for your  email…

As you know our pricelist changes.. so she might have asked for the price when it was $5usd and now the chairs are $6usd.

We always charge the fee to move of location for 2usd.

Also in your case we already include the freight, for this bride in Nov they are probably not considering the freight.

Thanks and let me know if you have any questions.

Have a great day!

Regards,

Fernanda Parra

SO.... that's that. I guess there's no changing the price for me. I'm really surprised Veronica didn't put you in contact with Planner 1 directly.. anyways I'm not going to fight about it, too much energy for a few dollars but still.. check into it just to make sure!!

As for other news.. I ordered our wedding guest favors this morning! Mini stainless steel cocktail shakes (1 per couple) along with lavendar citrus cocktail infusers (cute little cone shape packaging in purple to match our colors!). All this including shipping for 140$. I ordered 24 cocktail infusions and 15 mini cocktail shakers. I'll be placing them on the tables for the guests at the reception.. my OOTs will be given out the second night we get down there at my "welcome" dinner. Are any of you giving out favors?

Hello Girls,

I am new to the board :)  I am getting married at the Valentin on November 19th.

I def. share some of your frustrations on the pricing issues.  I went down for a site visit and was told they were very flexible and I have yet to experience that. We are still in the begining stages of planning.

For the OOBs, does anyone know if they would be able to deliver them to the rooms?

Thanks!

Christine

Hm interesting. Well, we were quoted $5 so that's what I'm paying! lol. It kind of sucks that everyone is told different things. I don't want to be stressed when I get down there. I'm going to print all my emails and bring them down.

C - I'm not planning to ship anything down there. I'd rather pay for extra luggage on the plane and have it with me.

So Veronica emailed me today to say that she quoted me the wrong price for the chairs earlier. Oh well!

For the menus, she said we have to pick one item from each category (appetizer, main, etc). Is this right?? Everyone has to eat the same thing? I would think there would be at least 2 options for the entree???

C- I do plan on shipping my stuff down there, I know its gonna cost me but I'd rather not deal with the extra baggage.

Jbean- I felt the same way when Ana told me about the dinner options, I asked her if I could substitute the soup for a choice of two entree and she said that was ok. Who needs to eat soup in hot weather anyway :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
