Valentin Imperial Maya Brides?

Recommended Posts

Thank you so much ChelsH for getting back to me with the info. I am so undecided on where I want to have our wedding. The Valentin is so beautiful but I have a spot reserved at the Playacar palace so I am torn on what to do. The major two concerns for m are 1) at the Playacar, the ferry seems so close to the hotel and since I haven had a site visit, I dont know if this will be a problem and 2) at the Valentin I am unsure if the rates for the rooms will be as low as I have found

Were you given a specific room rate and may I ask what it might be?

Are you also dealing with a travel agent?Thanx again and Congrats!!

We are going with the middle package - the Unforgettable package. Does anyone knows what comes with it in terms of decor? I mean, if we didn't purchase ANY extras or bring anything with us, what would it look like??  Fi is concerned we're going to be bringing too much stuff down, and I'm concerned it will be too plain if I don't, and neither of us wants to spend a fortune on "extras" down there.

I will send an email to the WC about this - I'm just wondering if anyone has personal experience.

As far as lighting goes, I would say 5:00 or even 5:30 is more ideal (sunset). I was married last October at the VIM and they tried to move my time as well. I think maybe they want things to finish an hour earlier which I understand, but if you are wanting great pics, the lighting is something to consider. I consulted my photographers and they said definitely 5:00 is better than 4:00.

JBean I have wondering about decorations too and what all we should bring.  If you find anything out let me know.  Alliecattn what was the decoration situation when you were there?

Danitha, we were at the Valentin in Oct 2009 and loved it.  Thats why we chose it for the wedding.  We usually book our trips ourselves but for this we are working with Greg at RWD Travel and he has been great.  I can forward you his contact info.

Hello ladies! I've been a creeper on the forum for a while now. I haven't had much to contribute because I haven't had any contact with VIM. My travel agent booked our stay and our date. We're getting married at VIM on June 18, 2011. Last week, we made an impromptu trip to Mexico for a site visit. We were only there for 3 days so I didn't get to see as much as I wanted to but I can tell you that it's AMAZING! We were met with champagne when we arrived and everyone was so welcoming. The food was great and the facilities were beautiful. We were able to meet with Ana last minute. She was very nice and helpful and she explained everything to us. One thing that we were concerned about was the 4 witnesses that we need in order to have the legal ceremony. I didn't want to have to ask guests to come early for that since they're already paying so much to go. Ana told us that the resort can provide witnesses for $25 each. That was such good news for us! After visiting, I am even more excited about being married there.

If you have any questions, please ask!

Ok ladies!! We're back from the most amazing trip ever.... the wedding was more than I had hoped for! So here's my review.......

We traveled to VIM January 9th-14th and got married on January 11th on the beach at 4:20 pm.  The ceremony lasted about 15 minutes.

Resort:  The resort was beautiful!  When we arrived we were greeted with cool towels and champagne.  Check in was a breeze and we were up graded to a Silver Suite because we were celebrating our Honeymoon/Wedding.  The room was great!  When we arrived at our room our bed was decorated with towel art and rose petals and the bath was filled with bubbles and rose petals, there was also a bottle of champagne waiting for us with a personal letter from the hotel manager! As for the rest of the resort the beach is beautiful and the pool is huge with 2 swim up bars.  We didn't get a chance to eat at all of the restaurants but we did eat at the Japanese, Seafood, and Mexican and the breakfast/lunch buffets.  I'd have to say the Seafood (Lobster Pot) was my least favorite. One of the nights we were there was the Mexican Fiesta which was a buffet and a show with dancers.  We had our "rehearsal/welcome" dinner there and the WC reserved us tables for our guests.  The staff waits on you hand and foot and were always very pleasant with any of our requests.

WC: AWESOME!!! Ariadna totally went above and beyond and I felt that she truly cared about making our day special.  We arrived on a Sunday (her day off) but Ariadna called me Saturday evening to let me know she was going to be off Sunday and that we should meet with her Monday morning.  We met with her the day before the wedding and she went over everything with us.  We chose our cake design, went over our package, and she showed us the different reception dinner sites.  We also dropped off the center piece/ceremony decorations we had brought down with us and she assured us she would have everything set up!  I cannot say enough great things about her!

Wedding Day: We got married on the beach between buildings 11 & 12 it's semi-private and far away from the normal beach spot.  About 20 minutes before the ceremony started the photographer came to my room and took some pictures of me finishing getting ready, pics with my parents, and also some pictures with my BM's. Ariadna was also there to drop off our flowers which were BEAUTIFUL!  A golf cart picked us up at my building and drove us over to the ceremony. We brought an i-pod with us for music for the ceremony and the resort provides speakers/mic.  We were married by Kiko Flores who did a great job!  The ceremony lasted about 15 minutes if that.  After wards we had a champagne toast and more pictures with all of our guests! The guests then are escorted to the gazebo for the 1 hour cocktail while we took more pictures.  The cocktail hour was great.  We went with the Mexican appetizers which were very tasty!  There was also a private bar set up just for our party.  We decided on the Mexican Terrace for our reception dinner.  It's totally private and the setting is beautiful!  The other option is the Lobster Pot there is a terrace there which is very pretty but not very private.  For the dinner we chose: Caesar Salad, Lobster Bisque, Surf n' Turf, and the coconut mouse.  Everyone raved about the dinner and I have to say it might have been the best meal we had there the entire time!  The wedding cake was gorgeous and huge!  Only the top tier of the cake is real but it was plenty for our 17 guests.  I don't think we even ate half of the cake.  We used the i-pod we brought for music during the reception dinner and was able to use i-pod speakers borrowed from another bride (thanks Jen!) who got married there the day before we did.  I didn't use the resort hair and make-up services because my sister does both so I can't really comment on that part.

Photography: Blue Lens did our pictures and I have to say we are so pleased with them!  Ashley took our pictures and did a wonderful job... I had no idea how they'd turn out and when I saw them I was soooo happy!  Our package came with 36 prints but we decided to get an edited disc with 110 pictures on it and it was $600 USD.

My wedding day couldn't have been more perfect!  You will not regret having your wedding at VIM! We cannot wait to return there....  If you have any other questions please let me know! I'm more than happy to help out.  I've posted some pictures below!

Congratulations & Happy Planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
