Valentin Imperial Maya Brides?

Nikki-

I sent Ana some pictures of what I was thinking- all white orchids with pink throats. Then I saw Allison's flowers and am now thinking I'm going to copy her!

All that said, I've not heard back from Ana on the cost and if the orchids will be available in Dec.

Just to give you my two cents, I think having the cocktail hour 15 minutes after the ceremony is great. We didn't have ours until 30 minutes after the ceremony ended, and I feel like this was too much time in between. Yes, we had a champagne toast on the beach and a group photo, but this was still too much time. The only exception would be if you and your husband really want to enjoy the majority of cocktail hour. Then I'd advise the 30 mins. between b/c your photog will most likely want to get several pics of you on the beach after the ceremony.

We are planning on going shopping for speakers for our ipod this week for the reception.  I was thinking we could probably share things like that if you were interested since we are getting married the day after each other.  We also didn't want to pay the extra money but I'm trying to limit the amount of stuff we are lugging down there.  We will have about the same sized group as you too, 13 confirmed right now with possibly one more couple joining us.

Are you bringing decorations for the tables for the reception?

We are planning on just having a welcome dinner.... I wasn't sure about doing a rehersal either but I hoped like Jenlevergood, that Ariadna would just walk us through it when we meet with her to finalize everything.

We are having about 16-18 people at our wedding and were planning on doing just the I-pod.  $450 does seem expensive for speakers.

Are you ladies planning on music at your ceremony and do you know how that will work with the I-pod??

Hello ladies! We are heading down to the Riviera Maya to shoot a couple of weddings at Azul Sensatori next week (Nov 12th through the 22nd). We are spending out vacation part of our trip at the Valentin though, so if any of you would like us to take some pictures of any particular part of the property, restaurants/bars, beach, etc, just let me know and we would be more than happy to take some for you. Anything that you need to see the layout and and for planning purposes. I will post again before we go in case anyone misses this. It will be our first time at the Valentin and we are super excited!! smile159.gif

If anyone is looking for personalized items for their guests, I would highly recommend discountmugs.com.  We ordered personalized travel mugs that turned out amazing.  We were so happy that we ordered personalized cloth bags that we will use as our OOT bags but are the perfect size that can double as beach bags.  We are so happy with the quality of the products for the price and both boxes arrived before the delivery date, which is pretty amazing since you never know what to expect when shipping from the US to Canada.  Just a little FYI if anyone is interested, check out their website.

Anyone heard what a day pass allows guests to do? I have a couple that are staying off property and for them to come in for the wedding, they have to pay $95 pp for a day pass.. they rea;lly should just stay at the resort one nite. But does a day pass only allow you to be on the property from certain times? Can they eat and drink? I emailed ana but she has not responded yet.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
