Valentin Imperial Maya Brides?

Tinkertoy, thanks for the invite props. I really liked everything from that company and was torn among several designs. Jenlevergood, Ariadna told me the same about the bouquets but after sending numerous pictures, it seems that they can do different designs, but they're limited to only the flowers listed in the catalogs. That limits you to roses, lilies, irises, calalillies, and gerber daisies for the most part. They can do different colors but not different flowers. I'm really disappointed about that and am almost willing to pay more for a different flower. I understand that they are seasonal and it costs money to import, but I'm willing. I guess I need to be telling her all of this! wink.gif

That flower thing kind of blows my mind... I mean, I am thinking of doing a very tropical bouquet and you can't tell me that they can't get birds of paradise, hibiscus, ginger, etc.... Just GO PICK SOME!

HAha!

My grandmother has offered to pay for our invites as they are in the business and can get them at 50% off BUT we have to order from Carlson Craft. Their designs have not blown me away so far so I'm at a loss.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Iâ€ve been working with Ana and she is a total wedding cooridinator rockstar.  Canâ€t wait to meet her on Saturday!

Hereâ€s my plans:

We purchased the Moonlight package and I paid additional for extra flowers for the best man, MOH, my mom, for the cake & for my hair.  We are also paying extra for our pics w/ Blue Caribe as this package doesnâ€t include any.  I think the prices we are paying for what we are getting are fair.  Iâ€m a financial analyst so obviously Iâ€m careful about what we get for our $$.

I chose flowers from the options Ana sent,  but it was hard cuz our colors are blue & silver.  I opted for a bouquet of white Lillies, white roses & purple iris.  Ana said I could choose any other flower and they could paint it to match my color but I wanted my flowers to be au natural – I guess thatâ€s the hippie in me : )

Reception location we have not chosen yet – Ana said weâ€ll figure it out when we get there.  Same as the food.  I opted not to pay for a fixed menu – although it was offered to us.  We plan to just pick the restaurant that feels the most like us & order off the all-inclusive menu.

Cake – here is where we got a bit picky – my fiancé is a chef so the cake is a big deal.  We werenâ€t feeling any of the options so I sent Ana a pic of what we want & she said no prob & I just have to bring the ribbon & we paid for a dozen extra flowers for the cake.  I got a pic out of a bridal magazine that I plan to give her on Saturday.  Havenâ€t decided on the flavour yet.  Apparently all the cake flavours are on the buffet so weâ€re going to do our own little tasting & then tell her what we want.

Weâ€re doing welcome bags, our AHR invitations turned out beautiful.  Is it against the rules to post links on here.  LOVE our welcome bags.  They are soooo cute!!!

Ahollo – I just saw that map you posted.  The place looks freakin†HUGE!!

Yea, so we leave the day after tomorrow.  Holy cow!!

I cannot stress enough how awesome it has been to work with Ana.  We originally had Lupita as a WC, but after she left we were reassigned to Ana.  Sheâ€s been a god send.

Oh and Ahollo - We've finished our ceremony & sent it to the Pastor.  I'll post it on here when we get back, as I don't want to ruin any surprises if my friends or family are on this board : )  I also LOVE our sand ceremony kit.  If it's okay to post links & stuff I'll show it to y'all.

Hello Valentin Brides,

I will be getting married at the Valentin Imperial Maya April 30th 2011 :)  I am trying to decide between a civil beach ceremony or a cathlic chapel ceremony.  I would love to have the religious ceremony but I also want our marriage to be legal.  Can anyone give me any advice on this?  Can I have the religious ceremony there followed by a civil ceremony - I dont need the whole ceremony just something quick to make our marriage legal.  Thanks for any advice.

Anna

Entering of the Bride

We are here today to participate in a most joyous occasion; to celebrate one of the greatest moments in life, by acknowledging the wedding of Carl and Alison.

Today Carl and Alison proclaim their love to the world, and our joy and thoughts are with them.

Being assured of your love as life long companions, and that you have your families blessings, I now ask, who gives this women to be married to this man?

(Michael says “I doâ€)

Thank you, Michael.

Opening Blessing

Carl, Alison, Family and Friends, I would like to welcome you to Riviera Maya,  Mexico.

Carl and Alison, you have known each other from the first glance of acquaintance to this point of commitment. At some point, you decided to marry. From that moment of yes to this moment of yes, indeed, you have been making promises and agreements in an informal way.

All those conversations that were held riding in a car or over a meal or during long walks - all those sentences that began with “When weâ€re married†and continued with “I will and you will and we willâ€- those late night talks that included “someday†and “somehow†and “maybeâ€- and all those promises that are unspoken matters of the heart.

All these common things, and more, are the real process of a wedding. The vows that you are about to make are a way of saying to one another, “ You know all those things weâ€ve promised and hoped and dreamed- well, I meant it all, every word.†Look at one another and remember this moment in time.

Before this moment you have been many things to one another- best friend, companion, video game partner, and even teacher, for you have learned much from one another in these last few years. Now you shall say a few words that take you across a threshold of life, and things will never quite be the same between you. For after these vows, you shall say to the world, this- is my husband, this- is my wife.

By entering into this marriage, Carl and Alison are stating publicly, the feelings, and commitments they have held privately between them. They are proclaiming their love for, their trust in and their loyalty to the one, they cherish above all others.

Marriage has been described as living in love with your best friend. Love is one of the few constants in the universe. It is reality, affinity, and communication. Only love is capable of joining living beings by their deepest essence, uniting, completing, and fulfilling them.

Marriage is a symbol of the commitment, to create a lifelong partnership, based on love.

Before you are joined in marriage in my presence and before your witnesses, I am to remind you of the serious and binding nature of the relationship you are now about to enter. Are you both here of your own free will?

Carl and Alison would you please face each other and join your hands.

Vows

Carl, as I say these words, would you please repeat after me…

I love you, Alison. You are my best friend. Today I give myself to you in marriage. I promise to encourage and inspire you, to laugh with you, and to comfort you in times of sorrow and struggle.

I promise to love you in good times and in bad, when life seems easy and when it seems hard, when our love is simple, and when it is an effort. I promise to cherish you, and to always hold you in highest regard. These things I give to you today, and all the days of our life. I am forever yours……faithfully.

Alison, as I say these words, would you please repeat after me…

I love you, Carl, You too are my best friend.

The Rings

The wedding ring, traditionally, is a symbol of the unbroken circle of love as it has neither a beginning nor an end. It should always remind those who wear it of the sacredness of marriage and the love that feeds it.

Carl and Alison, your rings are intimately associated with your intent to honor and treasure the vows you have made today. By exchanging rings, resolve to live your vows and not to let them drift in shallow promises. Believe and trust that the words you have spoken have the capacity to create the marriage, family and life of your dreams, and that the rings you exchange will have the power to return you to your vows.

These rings mark the beginning of a long journey together, wear them proudly, as they are symbols which speak of love that you have for each other….

Carl as you place this ring on Alisonâ€s finger please repeat after me…

Alison, I give you this ring, as a sign of our marriage, and a lasting reminder, of the vows made between us today. I give you this ring, as a reminder that I will love, honor, and cherish you, in all times, in all places, and in all ways, forever.

Alison, if you accept please say I do…

Alison as you place this ring on Carlâ€s finger, please repeat after me…

Carl, I to give you this ring, as a sign of our marriage, and a lasting reminder, of the vows made between us today. I give you this ring, as a reminder that I will love, honor, and cherish you, in all times, in all places, and in all ways, forever.

Carl, if you except, please say “I Doâ€.

Engagement Ring

The engagement ring is a symbol of promise and intention. Now the intention is realized and the promise fulfilled. Carl, please place the engagement ring on Alisonâ€s finger over her wedding band to symbolize that the love that brought you together will always protect and sustain your marriage.

Hand Blessing

Carl, please hold Alisonâ€s hands palms up, so you may see the gift that they are to you.
These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and vibrant with love, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as she promises to passionately love you and cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happiness.
These are the hands that will work along side yours, as together you build your future, as you laugh and cry, as you share your innermost secrets and dreams.
These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes: tears of sorrow and tears of joy.
These are the hands that will comfort you in illness, and hold you when fear or grief engulfs your heart.
And these are the hands that when wrinkled and aged will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch.

Alison, will you please hold Carlâ€s hands, palms up, so you may feel the gift they are to you.
Carl, take a look at the position of your hands with Alisonâ€s and know that this is the last time that you will have the “upper hand.â€

These are the hands of your best friend, smooth, young and carefree, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as he promises to passionately love you and cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happiness.
These are the hands that will massage tension from you neck and back in the evenings after youâ€ve both had a long hard day.
These are the hands that will hold you tight as you struggle through difficult times.
These are the hands that will comfort you when you are sick, or console you when you are grieving.
And these are the hands that will give you support as she encourages you to chase down your dreams. Together as a team, everything you wish for can be realized.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Carl and Alison have demonstrated in your presence today, their belief in their love, and their desire to live together in Holy Matrimony. If you also believe in their love, and wish to add your blessing on their marriage today, please respond now by saying……………WE DO
And are you all willing to sustain and strengthen this marriage, by giving Carl and Alison the public commitment of your love and support, through all the ups and downs ahead of them…If you are willing, please say……….WE ARE

Pronouncement

Now that you have joined yourselves in matrimony, may you strive always to meet this commitment, with the same spirit you now are now shining. We all bear witness to this ceremony you have just performed, and this bond that has been formed today can be broken by none.

With family and friends, in front of the presence of God and his beautiful creations of the sand and sea, you may now call yourselves by those old and respected names, Husband and Wife.

Carl, you may kiss the bride.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I introduce to you Mr. and Mrs. Carl Groff.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
