Hey tinkertoy-I've posted a few pictures of my reception at the Lobster Pot in my review, but I'll post them here too :)

It's basically a private little terrace that's attached to the Lobster Pot restaurant.  I'd say it's not as formal as the terrace of the Mexican restaurant (I've seen pictures of receptions there-it's beautiful), but we weren't going for that.  I guess it's all about the vibe you want.  Good luck!

Hey Ahollo,

I didn't notice your reply to my post until now...but reading through your posts later on realized that we'll be overlapping at the resort and posted a separate note to you recently...haha.

Our travel dates are May 4th - 11th.  When we were on the site visit, Ana showed us the spreadsheet that had the wedding bookings, and I definitely remember there being a May 10th wedding, so that must have been yours :)  We were lucky to snag the last available Saturday in May.  By the way, did you know that your wedding date is Mexico's Mother Day.  And mine is the day before the American Mother's Day.  I hope that doesn't drive up the flower prices for our weddings cry.gif

Hey Ahollo,

Catching up on this forum today and am going to bug you again with a question!  So it sounds like you're booking an outside photographer, and not using the one from the resort.  Is there a reason you decided to do that?  Does your package include a photographer?  Mine does, and I'm trying to decide if I should bring someone in for the wedding, and just use whatever is in our package for the rehearsal dinner or something.  Any thoughts?

Thanks!

She asked me to wire the money to her bank and gave me the account number and such. Has anyone ever wired money before? How does it work? I'm assuming this in not weird to wire money to vendors, is it?

jglee-

Sorry it took me so long to respond! I havent been on the site in about 2 weeks! I booked an outside photographer after much himming and hawing.. mostly due to price. The resort photographer is cheaper than Cecila Dumas and money is very much a factor to me.. so I was all set to just use the resort photographer but I came across some older reviews on here that were negitive toward Blue Lens. But what really turned me away was that I found a review that said Blue Lens created several profiles on here and posted their fake reviews to make themself look good.. then they were banned from being on here when the site found out. That was just really shady to me and I felt uncomfy using them. I see good reviews now and again for them but I just wanted to go with someones else.

I am excited that our time over laps! You will have to give me the ins and outs!!!!! I'm nervous about flower prices too!

I bought the first dress I tried on and 500 magazine images and 200 Say Yes to the Dress episodes later, I'm regretting not shopping around more. I did my homework beforehand but bought the dress as soon as we got engaged. Ten months later my vision for the dress has changed. Don't get me wrong, I still like it, just don't know if it's what I would pick if I had it to do all over again. So, long story short, my advice is to spend time thinking about your dress and don't rush into anything. Don't feel pressured to buy the dress just because you think it might be the one. I got caught up in the moment and wish I'd done more shopping.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
