Valentin Imperial Maya Brides?

Recommended Posts

Ahollo, I think your invites are super cute too :)

Invites are really expensive for some reason. A lot of brides on here are addicted to vista print, and I think they do invites too. We didn't do paper invites for our wedding b/c we wanted to keep it really small, but we sent out invites for our AHR that we bought from Target, and had printed at Office Depot. Unfortunately I don't have a pic of them but they looked very professional and really good. For 200 invites, I think I only spent around $70 for them, and that includes the invite, response card, envelopes and all the printing.

Soooo according to the VIM facebook page, there are changes happening at the VIM. Apparently, the Lobster Pot now charges a surcharge of $20 for their lobster dishes. Also, the coolers of beer and floaties that were on the beach are now gone. That is as much as I gathered on facebook. I'm not sure if anything else has been taken away.

This happened on July 15th. So the resort says that if you booked your trip prior to that date then they will waive the surcharge. I emailed my WC about this. Since I have not booked my trip yet BUT have booked my wedding, then assumingly this fee would be waived for us as well since we booked our wedding based on the amenities offered. She said not the fee would no it will not be waived.

Just wanted to give you girls a heads up. I am very dissapointed. It's just the princible of it all.

The Valentin has recently switched owners, and the new one comes from Spain and has made a lot of cut backs. The extra charge for the lobster is one. We noticed some little things-no more mints on the pillow before bed, no more chips in the fridge. No floaties in the pool. Sadly, they do make a difference.

There is still plenty of beer-you definitely won't want for that. They have coolers with water at the beach, but I think you have to get the beer at the bar, which is right next to the coolers. No big deal.

About the floaties-if you want one, bring your own! The gift store charges like $17 for a floatie you could buy for $3 at Target.

So Ariadna just emailed me after I was upset about the Lobster Pot.. she nows says that if the wedding was booked prior to July 15th then they will waive the surcharge. Also she said that to bring an outside photographer it is not only $75 (day pass) instead of $200 (vendor fee). I hope she stays by that becasue 75 is a lot different that 200!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
