Does anyone have pictures of the chairs at the ceremony and the tables and chairs at the reception? Oh, and the centerpieces through the resort. I asked Ariadna if I can design my own and she said yes. Did anyone else do this? If so, did the resort meet your expectations? I'm thinking I'll keep it simple so it will be easy to replicate but don't remember loving anything in their catalog (which I know can't find). Thanks.

Question for those married at the Valentin:

Did you have your make up done by the Spa? I'm a little nervous to do this-I rarely wear make up, and am a bit clueless as to how and what to wear, so I'm not sure if I should go get a trial done here at home, or if I should just wait and trust the Valentin.

Any help would be appreciated!

I had my makeup done by the spa and it turned out really well. I'm not a big makeup person either and wouldn't know the first thing about trying to put it on. Didn't have a trial run, but I brought inspiration pics of how I wanted it to look and it came out well, but still didn't look like I was wearing makeup.

Thanks, hoyt!

Another question, probably for you.

Did the reception dinner include exactly everything that was on the menu sent by Ariadna/Lupita? I'd like to make menus, but I'm afraid that I'll write exactly what the Valentin's menu says, and then the dinner itself will be slightly different.

I know, it's such a small thing, but I know it would bother me if they were different!

Yes, everything was exactly as described.. and it was delicious! We didn't get to have any of the appetizers b/c we were taking photos, but every one said that they were really good too. If I remember correctly, we choose option # 3 b/c it was the only normal sounding one that they had, lol. Some of the appetizer options included hot dogs and eggs with anchovies (seriously?) and weird sounding stuff that I would in no way want to eat on any given day, let alone my wedding. The main courses came out hot, they gave us 2 extra dinner plates for some reason so we just gave them to the bartender and he was very appreciative of it.

The dinner menu we had came with a chocolate desert, and we also got our wedding cake. We got the wedding cake in 3 milks, or tres leches, and everyone raved about it. It's a really moist cake and not overly sweet, very good stuff. I'm a chocoholic and my hubby likes boring vanilla so we decided on the 3 milks as a comprimise.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
