Distance between Ocho Rios and Negril

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Our wedding is set for Ocho Rios Riu and we are thinking about other locations for our honeymoon. I am really liking Couples Negril (apparently more lively than the other couples locations) and I was wondering if anyone knew how long it would take to go from Ocho Rios to Negril......And also, how we would go abouts doing that the cheapest way possible if we decide to go there. I sort of want to go to Negril because I heard its absolutely amazing, and since we are already in Jamaica, might as well try to see the most of it!

Im just worried that we would have to take a cab or something and it end up being a ton on money..

Any insight?

Mo is right, it's about 4 hours, by the time you figure in traffic, etc.

Lee's is a very reputable company. You could also contact Couples OR and see if they are taking anyone to Negril and try and catch the bus there.

I was at CSA and loved it! Negril was beautiful, but we had no problem with nudity. Couples doesn't allow nudity on public areas of the property. In Negril all beaches are public, be we never saw anything other than a topless woman, and not many at that. I meant to walk down to CN, but never did. We were having too much fun where we were.

COR will be open by the time your honeymoon rolls around, so you could stay there if you just wanted a change of scenery.

If you have any questions about Couples, please feel free to PM me. I'll be more than happy to help anyway I can!

Just in case you don't want to travel far: We got married at ROR and went next door to Sandals Dunn's River and were amazed. It was a 2 minute bus ride and was incredible. The people were so nice and even though the resort was smaller than ROR it was romantic and was wonderful. I highly recommend it and it didn't take anytime to go next door. Check it out!!

Yes, the thought about going somewhere so close does make it even more appealing....im not overly a fan about having to travel past montego bay to go to another resort, and then have to travel back to montego bay for when we finally go home...but, i do want to make the best out of vacation though and see as much as we can....so going over to negril will allow us to do that!!!

some of the activities there sound so much fun, and i think we will be doing a lot of tours/excursions with our wedding guests around the ocho rios area..so when it comes time to the honeymoon, we would also like to have some activities planned and being in a totally different location/area of jamaica will allow us to do that!!!

i heard sandals dunns river is amazing though...we are looking into other sandals resorts in jamaica, just not that one cause of where its at- maybe montego bay (iffy about that) or negril.....

i have email lees so hopefully they will get back to me with an afforable rate!!!!

Lee's contacted me back rather quickly by phone and email!

Their rate from Ocho Rio to Negril is $150.00.....

So, thats not bad for the few hours to get there!!!

I think a random cab would cost a lot more!

Just thought I would update, for other brides that were inquiring as well!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
