No word of a lie, my dress came out cleaner after my TTD than it was after the wedding/reception. I had to clean some sand out of it, but that was it.

Having our AHR this weekend, my dress was SUPER sandy and pretty dirty from TTD sesh-- looks IMMACULATE after cleaning. :) I say do it! If you don't you may regret it-- many of the girls actually say their dresses are cleaner after the TTD than they were after the ceremony.

Our TTD session was about 1.5 hrs. We went downtown playa del Carmen for a walk and ended up on the beach...I haven't seen the pictures yet but I can't wait!

Our photographer (lifeimages.ca) was so fast, Alex set us up, shot and then we were on to the next spot that caught his eye.

Fun and fantastic...and totally worth it

honestly, mine was a mess. water very rough that day though. full of sand. my dress had a lot of tulle on side and many pieces came offhuh.gif floating in water. should have professional pics soon. will post. But, no regrets on doing it!!!!! Once in a life time thing. face it almost everyone has wedding pics- but not these.

Your dress looks like taffeta, is it? Thats what mine is, it seems like sand would come off pretty easy. We really want to do it, but I can't ruin my dress, only cause of the reception, and his parents arn't coming down to the wedding, so I feel like I need to look just they way I did at the wedding :S

agree! actually my AHR is this weekend too and I have been lazy and haven't got it cleaned yet but I am still planning on throwing it on for awhile at our AHR. it really is not too dirty at all!

ahhh heck just tell him it is something you totally want to do! mine was so just ehhhhh about it. It was something I wanted to do more than he did. he went along with it though. once we got to the pool/ocean shots he just wore shorts because he could not figure out why I wanted him to wear a shirt...I didn't even care to battle with him! my TTD slideshow is in my siggy. we should get our actual pics in the mail today then I will come back and post a few

SERIOUSLY if you are even thinking about possibly doing a TTD you should do it! you don't want to regret it later!

It's not quite taffeta, but has really similar features (and probably cleans similarly)

The sand actually brushed right off of it once it was dry-- I just hung it in our room until I could brush it off, and then I packed it up for departure. If you are really concerned with how it will turn out, I suggest getting another dress to do your TTD sesh in. That way you can give the photos your "all" without worrying about damaging your actual dress. :)

Best of luck, I'm sure they will be gorgeous either way!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
