Did any of you or are any of you planning on not having a bridal party? Is it ok for just you and your DH to stand together, or do you have to have someone stand up for you?

Please take a minute to read this thread http://bestdestinati...om/forum/t24194.

I will move this post from RM/Cancun to the appropriate sub-forum.

I am not having a wedding party and I couldn't be happier about it! Well we will be having a flower girl and ring bearer if that counts...but anyway we are having such a small intimate wedding with only our closest friends and family. when my FI and I initially discussed this his comment on the whole wedding party thing was "well what is the difference if our friends are standing up or sitting down?" which was a good point!

As a side note though both myself and my FI are both only children so we don't have ANY siblings...I might feel different if we did have siblings.

I say it is your wedding and your day...if you do not want a wedding party then don't have one! do what will make you guys happiest!

We didn't have any attendants. Partly because our best friends couldn't make it, and we didn't want to have substitutes and then feel like we had to include everyone. And like Andi said, everyone could see better sitting than standing anyway!

we didn't have a wedding party. I just called my girls honorary BMs & made them a little gift. I'm very happy with how it worked out.

We're not having a wedding party. That's part of the reason we decided to do a destination wedding, to avoid the stress of a wedding party. I have 1 brother and FI has 1 sister, so we are going to ask them to be our witnesses. Do whatever you makes you happy, it's your wedding!

We aren't having a wedding party either - its too much hassle and would get far too complicated with FI's family

We're not having a wedding party. Between the two of us we have three brothers and no sisters, so there was no automatic family choice there. Also we didn't want to ask friends to spend extra $$ on top of what we're already asking them to spend. We're having our siblings do readings during the ceremony, my niece is a flower girl and I may ask my SILs to help out too.

None for us, either. It just didn't seem to suit us. Besides... My 5 BFFs are there, plus my sis, sis-in-law (bro's wife), FI's two sisters...

I mean, really, how would I pick? Because it would have been my 5BFFs, but then how would my sister feel, etc., etc., etc....

                    Happily married since 2008
