Hi everyone,

We're planning to wed. Feb. 2010 in Costa Rica, but we're having a difficult time deciding on a location. We would like to be married on the the beach and have our reception on the beach or outdoors. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Also has anyone heard of "Weddings Costa Rica" wedding coordinator? If so, what have you heard about them? I feel so overwhelmed at this point! dizzy.gif

Hi there,

I was at a friends wedding right outside of Tamarindo in May. It was lovely! Tamarindo was a great area because it gave guests many hotel options and there lots of things to do - many bars and restaurants, shopping, great surfing, tours, central location, etc. They were married at Cala Luna on Playa Langosta, which a lovely hotel. The wedding was on the beach and they had a cocktail hour there as well, until it started to rain (rainy season is in May). Later that evening, we went to Bistro Langosta for their reception. They rented out the whole place and had a DJ and lovely dinner. It was great!

Check out their wedding website at shawnandlisa.com. It will give you an idea of what their wedding was like and prices for different hotel accomodations in the area. I'm sure Lisa wouldn't mind if you were to contact her via email with a couple questions. She had a great wedding coordinator there that set up the DJ, photographer, hair stylist, nail artist, etc.

And, even more helpful for you to see. I was the videographer - check out the videos on youtube!

Hi there! We are getting married in Costa Rica also, and decided on Cala Luna. I know we also looked at Punta Islita, but it was too far away. I actually emailed Lisa who got married at Cala Luna, and she was quite helpful. it is such a small world! The wedding coordinator she used was a bit pricey. we are using Silvia from Paradise weddings. Let me know if you want her number.

I would love her number, thank you. Are you having both the ceremony and reception at Cala Luna? Do you know what the pricing on the menu selections are? Sorry for bombarding you with questions. Thank you!

Hi! I planning a wedding in Jan 2010 and have been looking EVERYWHERE! One place that I'm really interested in is Villas Sol in Costa Rica. It seem relatively inexpensive for the guests and is all inclusive. I don't know anything about the wedding packages though, I was thinking about contacting them. I also know that they will be doing renovations until Nov. 2009 which means when we get there everything will be nice and new. It also might mean, though, that they will raise their prices.

We just got married on the Papagayo Penninsula in Guantacaste...it was unbelievable. We did it through the Four Seasons and they took care of everything. Married on the beach, rehearsal dinner on the beach, reception in the Presidential Suite, A-M-A-Z-I-N-G and reasonable. If you go through the New York Sales Office you can get lower room rates and request Julia Giannini as your coordinator, she was perfect. Here's a link to our pics....I wouldn't trade the experience for anything in the world. Not to mention everyone there was sooooo nice. It really was great.

We just got married in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica on Dec. 20th. We stayed at the Hotel "Si Como No" and had our wedding on the beach. It was beautiful. Our wedding coordinator, Karen & Erin of Tropical Occasions took care of everything for me.

If your looking for a great photographer I would recommend Lifetime Digital Imaging. They did our pictures on the beach, and reception.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
