Also, can you rent wave runners on the beach??

And, what time does the disco close (or any other night life for that matter). What is there to do there around the evenings after dinner? How late do the bars stay open? Can you go on the beach after dark? I guess I'm wondering if the resort is like dead at night. Thanks.

I got an answer from Landay today!!

I sent her an email asking about the whole deposit thing we were talking about the other day (last week). First, I got and out of office reply saying she wouldn't be around till 9/18 but then she wound up getting back to me.

I have a confirmation number for my wedding (I booked with destinationweddings.com) I knew that my TA contacted the resort and booked my wedding because I was CCd on all the emails. When Landy sent her an email back saying that I needed to fill out some info to reserve the day, I was on it, really quickly. Days later I received a confirmation # from Landy herself, and like a month later I received the invoice from dw.com with the ultimate wedding package added to my final price. I have been paying it every month, but after reading all the worry about deposits (and not being sure where the money I was sending was going - plane tickets, the stay itself, etc) I became concerned.

So any way, read the email below and make sure you get a confirmation number if you haven't already and also make sure you contact her to nail down your wedding date (if she didn't send you an email asking for your name, grooms name, wedding date, package, and a whole slew of other stuff, chances are you're not confirmed - and after you send her that info, she emails you back with a confirmation #).

Hope this helped!

Dear Christina:

Thank you for ask, all the weddings already confirm in the past without the deposit are reserved donâ€t worry, this is a new requirement for the new weddings.

Kind regards

Hello everyone. It was suggested that I introduce myself to everyone in this forum, so hello! To be honest, I have never joined a forum, and I'm not even sure if I'm posting this in the right place; I don't want to leave any clutter. undecided.gif

I've mostly been trying to read as much as I possibly can before posting any questions and it is taking me a LONG time. For as little as I have read, this forum has been extremely helpful. Thank you to everyone who set this up and organized all of these threads!

I hope that after my wedding in January that I can be of some help to other Dreams brides. Thanks again.

Hi and welcome to the Forum. To be honest, I do think that Dreams Tulum is one of the quieter resorts. If you read the past reviews you will find that the disco is usually empty. This could be good if you have a big group and want to take over the disco. This could also not be good if you have a small group and will not fill out the disco.

Playa Del Carmen has the of the more "nightlife". From what I have heard, the clubs and bars stay open until about 4 am.

Please see my post a couple of pages back, I put a list of fun places given to me by a friend who lived in Playa. Also, in the first couple of pages, Sunbride made attachments to different sections.

Thanks Carina-

I got that feeling from what I've read, and myself and my group are majority around the age group of 29 years old, so we aren't looking for clubs necessarily, but something to do at night here and there. Thank you.

So what time does everything shut down at the resort??

Here is my new question for everyone:

I am getting married on the beach and plan on being barefoot for the cermony, but wanted to get shoes for the reception and cocktails. What type of shoes have you all bought or worn after your beach wedding?

I am thinking of either a ballet slipper or a flip flop, but can't seem to comitt to either.

I am planning on doing bare foot for the ceremony and then putting on these awesome flip flops. They are clear and they have rhinestones on them (stewart weitzman)

YES!!! This same question has been bugging me too! I have an appointment on October 7th with my seamstress and I wish I had purchased my reception footwear already. I suppose I'll be wearing something relatively flat, but I haven't found anything I love yet. A ballet slipper is a great idea! I better start looking online for something - since I live in Canada and our summer weather is officially over, there's not very much selection in the stores anymore for summer footwear! confused.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
