Please help, I'm starting to plain for option B becasue of the rain. Most likely everything will be moved to inside. Any suggestions of where to have the ceremony and coctail hour? I kinda dont want to use the wedding chapel, but i may not have another choice. I'm so upset, I can't believe this is happening

The chapel is actually super cute- and it is air conditioned, too. I think of all the alternative spots to have your ceremony, the chapel is the best. It will make for great pictures i think! Cocktail hour could be in the lobby bar-- it's really nice up there-- and guests coming & going tend to leave you alone and politely scoot out of the way. Or, i would see if you can get the Mexican Restaurant El Patio for the cocktail hour or reception location. Our reception was moved there because of the threat of rain-- and it was awesome!! It's open, but covered, and i loved it. It sucks that we can't control the weather sad.gif I know exactly how you feel- i was getting angry at the rain! but if it does rain, at least the plan B places are avail to you no charge, and they are nicer than you think. The night before the wedding, sitting on my balcony in the pouring rain, getting soaked, and trying to calm my nerves-- i had a zen moment where I just acknowledged I couldn't control it, and it would be a great day, rain or not. don't worry!! it's going to be awesome...

I just got married at DT in May and I'm waiting for my marriage certificate to come in the mail so I can legally change my name-I'm starting a new job and I need new Identification ASAP. Initially I was told one month...but I'm going on two--when I called Anabel, she said it could take 4 months?!?
Anyone know more about this? I so appreciate the help!!
Hi, I posted this 1 post previous to yours!
We were married on 26th March and our certificate arrived on 1st July so just over 3 months for us. We were also told it could be 4 months which I think is the standard response.

That's definitely the right attitude! We just got back from our wedding/honeymoon yesterday and were married at DT during Tropical Storm Alex last week... It poured rain for 3 days prior to the wedding day and was REALLY stormy and windy on the day of our wedding but the rain held off so we were still able to get married on the beach, though we did have to sign all sorts of releases in case our guests get hurt due to weather because the Aurora and Anabel wanted to move us indoors. Honestly, worst case scenario, the chapel is very cute and the convention center is large, air conditioned, and can be decorated. And in the week following our wedding, when the weather was perfect, couples still opted for the chapel to stay out of the heat. DT had 2-3 weddings a day over the course of the last week i was there. Don't worry, i will have a REALLY detailed review up in a couple days but let's just say it wasn't the wedding i had planned but we made the most of it and enjoyed (almost) every minute wink.gif lol

And so it begins!! We sent out our invitations last week. Most got them last Friday and we are already having ppl say they can't afford it. HIS PARENTS!! I told myself i wasn't going to let that thing bother me, friends and extended family not coming, but his freaking parents. He has to deal with it.

Than our agent gave us a price of $2063 for one week, which i think is perfect. But than she says that that deal is over August 27th and the price jumps to $3033. I posted that on our wedding website and ppl are freaking. So i really don't know how many ppl will be at our wedding!! Oh well as long as it's me and him that's all that matters.......

I'm sorry to hear about the rain for our upcoming brides!! Best of luck having your perfect day. Stay positive :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
