We also plan on getting married a few days prior to going to Mexico.  We also want to avoid the blood work and translation etc.......And we are ONLY telling the people who are coming to stand in as witnesses!!!

        Curtney,

We are gettting a Dj..Dj Mannia. And its costing us about $300 more then that but hes has gotten Awesome reviews so thats one thing i will not have to worry about at the wedding because we were originally going to just bring an ipod down with us but the more i thought about it i realized it wouldve been more of a hassle then anything!!

We're using DJ Doremixx after all the great reviews here.  I dont have a lot of faith in some of the resort vendors after reading a lot of the comments here.

i think i am going to use DJ Bijan as well, his prices cant be beat and he's going to do our ceremony as well! i dont want to have to pay for a micro phone for $150 plus tax! thats stupid.

That's what we are doing, he will also be doing our ceremony.  It works out much better to have him do both, plus it takes the stress off of my to have a guest announce us and then have to change music at my own wedding.

DJ Bijan will do our ceremony now as well as our reception. I think we will be very happy with this decision. He is very quick to reply to our emails, and his prices are great. One less thing to worry about!

So those of you that have hired an outside DJ, do you know if there are any extra fees (charged by the resort) for not using the resort DJ? I too would like to hire a DJ with a good light system but I was not sure if I had to ok it with the resort first?

you have to purchase a day pass for the DJ.
