My fiance was floored that the resort wouldn't ask kids to get out of the pool during dinner receptions.... He imagines us sitting down to dinner and being blind sided by a giant splash!!! The kids did stay at the other end of the pool and were behaving.... so as long as that is the story at my reception, I'm sure I can deal!!
Both pools are lit with changing color lights which are pretty... so that will help the ambiance for you.

When I was there in April/May I never saw any children in the pool that late. Most receptions dont start until 5:30-6 and there were no kids in the pool that late. My ceremony was at 4 and at around 5:30 we jumpe into the pool and no one was there.

THAT is just NUTS! I thought there were closing hours fot the pool...like 6pm or something like every other resort! There is NO WAY I will let the resort allow kids at the pool during the reception. This is the first time I heard about this. I couldn't imagine saying our speeches or having our first dance with a whole bumch of kids in the pool...far end or not.............I am going to send Aurora an e-mail about this. I mean, come on...we are paying lots of $$$ to have out weddings here!

We didn't have any issues with this at all. There is 1 pool open till 10:00PM but by our end it was deserted. We had our dinner at 6:00PM.

Honestly there were weddings taking place everyday and not once did I see kids playing in the pool at that hour. It was dark by 6:00PM so that may have been a factor. Not sure how it would work in the summer months so definately worth verifying when you get down there.

Yes, I've explained this a few times now. The forum switched servers and all the links were lost. I do intend to go back and update them all but it would take hours.

In the meantime you can do an advanced search by username to find the proper links.

I asked a cordinator about the pool rules and we were told that they would not require kids to get out of the pool at any certain time. If you want floating candles, I would think the adult pool would work better.
This is the first I hear of kids in the pool during receptions too. Really surprises me.

I got back and am now a Mrs. We had a wonderful time and will be writing my review and posting my pics. Anabel was our coordinator and she was really wonderful to deal with. I did find that some of the stuff that Auorora quoted me was completely different when I met with the coordinator:

                - Blood work- only charged $165 instead of $175
                - No set up fee for putting out my decorations (There were only 19 of us)
                - We had our reception at the Dolphin Pool and went with the silver menu. We did not have to pay the $750 (wasn't even mentioned in discussions with Anabel)
                - All is all it worked out cheaper for us to go with the free package and add the upgrades

                Hope this helps.

                Thanks

                V.

This is a question for any past brides that got there make up done at the spa....do you know what brand of make up they use?

I am not a make up person, but I do want to look flawless on my wedding day! I was thinking about going to the MAC counter at Macys to look at stuff. Do girls think it would be better to bring down my own make up for them to use or just use their stuff. I'm scared of getting a bad reaction on my wedding day

Just so you all know- I NEVER saw kids in the pool past 6... and no one was even around the pools for any of the receptions I saw... and we were there over Thanksgiving and the resort was packed. That's the first I've heard this, and we didnt' experience it the entire 7 days there... just so you know!!! =)
