Yeah! I thought that was pretty ridiculous when I heard the price. However, what I don't understand is the wedding guide for 2010 that Aurora sent me, it says $150 for ceremony for 30 minutes, not $165 as she quoted me. But it definitely does say $240 for the reception for 3 hours. That's $390 just for a speaker system for the ceremony and reception!! Maybe a few of us brides should buy a speaker system and share it, since there are a few of us getting married around the same time, you on June 19, I think there are a few in the last week of June, and I'm July 10, and then jayreneewed on July 15. We could split the cost of buying a system, and then just pass it from bride to bridehuh.gif

Soooo sorry to hear that! Thank goodness you are a DT bride! These girls have been through governmental closures and the swine flu, so I don't think you could find a better support group for this kind of thing. :) Hang in there, and just remember that it will work out - no matter which day it happens, it'll be fantastic.

Highlights:

1. I have photos of the floral arrangements available for the Ultimate package... both of them. You get to pick either flowers on the canopy or flowers lingin th aisle.

2. I sat with one of the resort photographers and went through some of the weddings they shot. They do really nice work! I was surprised. They can do fish eye shots, sepias and basic edits. You get the cd so if you want to photoshop pics at home to make them more "artsy" you can.

3. Watched 2 legal ceremony weddings. Both couples were happy with their weddings (we asked them!)

I'll put more info together when I have more time. But I am sure Dreams Tulum is a good decision for our wedding!!

Hi Ladies!!

I'm fairly new to this website but I've noticed that you guys provide tons of great information and I thank you!!!

We've booked our wedding date!! April 29, 2010!!

Our ceremony is at 12 pm (a little early for my liking) and I'm just wondering if anyone has any good ideas of what to get the guests to do from after the ceremony until dinner timehuh.gif?

Also, is there anyone else on here that has their wedding during the same week as our (April 24 - May 1, 2010)huh.gif

Any further tips, advice on locations, or suggestions to help us start planning would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!

Tara

We thought of that too, since we already have an ipod docking system that we'll be bringing.... but the major reason for us renting is to have the mic for our vows. Nothing worse than going to a wedding and not being able to hear the couple talk. .... but I suppose that depends on the size as well.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
