The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

Recommended Posts

Hello Dreams Tulum brides! Congrats on your upcoming weddings! :) This post is for any brides interested in affordable decor for your big day.

I'm a newlywed from Vancouver, Canada that lives down here in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. I have quite a few decor items leftover from our wedding in May, mostly in a rustic vintage style. I've decided to rent things out to brides that don't want to lug things like vases & mason jars down here to Mexico, and have priced things quite fairly compared to the resorts' prices.

I have a lots of different types of bottles, mason jars, vases and lanterns, as well as a variety of other items like wooden signs & frames, table runners, rustic birdcages, string lighting and even a portable sound system with two microphones.

If you want a Style Me Pretty or Ruffled type of wedding in Mexico without a huge price tag, I'm your gal! So far no one has had to pay an outside vendor fee at all, as they tell their WC that they have brought the decor themselves. I'm also always interested in buying items that brides bring down and would like to sell after their weddings, please send me photos of anything you'd like to sell!

If you'd like to see some photos and a price list, please send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you all the info. Also if anyone has any questions about the area, ask away! I've lived in Playa Del Carmen for two years and and know the whole coast quite well, especially the Tulum area. Happy planning ladies!

Here's a few of photos of some items we used in our wedding and that are for rent, but I have lots more:

I am wondering how much the "bridesmaid special" is?? I am just starting to look into some of these details for my bridesmaids.

Thanks!!

Well it's really not much of a deal- $100 for hair, makeup and champagne. They sent me a flyer with all the services including the "new" specials.

Hi Ladies,

I am getting married at Dreams Tulum February 22nd, 2014. I am a nervous reck, and mainly about cost. I have a guest list of 69, and although i have gone over my budget multiple times, am afraid that once i get there things are going to add up quickly and their will be a lot of things i didnt consider. Everytime i read throught the huge packet I sware I get a pit in my stomach. Hopefully once the coordinator gets in touch with me, some of my nerves settle.

I just spent hours reading though this site and it has been extremely helpful! I will be sure to post my questions and write a review on my return.

Hi ladies, we just got married on Nov 23 at Dreams Tulum!  Nothing but great reviews, our day was beyond beautiful!  I will write up a review in the next few days, and like the previous bride feel free to email me with any questions [email protected].  Also can answer any questions about traveling with a group of guests, ect.

We got married at the Terrace of the Convention Centre, and had our reception on the beach.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
