YEs the pics are beautiful-Im a newbie to the forum and am getting married feb 27th, trying to stick to a budget-wondering if we didn;t have a personal dance is there anywhere else at the resort we could go after the reception to dance? Has any other brides done this? I really didn;t want to spend on a dance/DJ  because we will be having a dance when we get back to the states.

I love these photos! We are staying in Tulum for ten days, and I am really hoping my budget allows a professional photographer. I have compared the resort for a professional, and I'm convinced on getting a professional! I'm also hoping our budget will allow a dj. I think it would make such a big difference. Laura ash I love your dress ! I have yet to find one....

Hi Tulum bride!  I am getting married on May 18, 2013.  What ten days will you be there for?  I decided to hire an outside dj and photographer.  I was not expecting how expensive photography was, but I read many reviews saying that the photographers at the resort weren't great.  We decided those were 2 things we didn't mind spending money on.  Now we have to pinch our pennies somewhere else.  Also, we have a thread set for May 2013 brides if you need more help on time and planning!  Cheers and welcome to BDW!!

We are arriving on th 5th, and leaving on 15th. Maybe I'll see you!. Photographers are expensive! At first I thought they meant pesos.... Lol. I sooooo want the dj and the photographer, those are the 2 things I so badly want to make room for. I'm gonna search for that thread. Got our own little club... Awesome:)

Hello!

I am 99 days from my wedding and patiently awaiting a wedding coordinator to contact me about finalizing all the details. (I still probably have another month!)

We are doing the Ultimate package and bringing our own photographers. We will not be doing a DJ as we will have a big reception back in the states with all of our friends and family. I am on a budget and decided to try not to double up on anything that isn't necessary unless it's included in the package deals.

Hopefully we will be having dinner on the beach and we are planning on bringing an iPod dock and playing our favorite old school love/classic rock songs. After dinner if everyone is still up for partying we'll hang out at one of the bars or at the dance club at the resort. (I'm from Wisconsin - all we need is a place to belly up to the bar and the dancing will happen anywhere and everywhere.)

Happy Planning!!

When budgeting- DONT skip out on a professional photographer- photos are the only memories you have- the difference between the hotel photographer and an outside one was huge! I used Juan Navarro (Very Good Price), For DJ we used DJ Bihan (hes a canadian in mexico)

Kaci Hemiller- Yes, There is a disco in the basement of the front lobby we moved our party there after 10:30, its nothing special, but it was fun

If any bride to be's want to see more photos of the resort, locations, wedding ideas add me to facebook,  Laura-Ashley http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151877846135137.880178.534010136&type=3#!/laura.ashley.311 make sure you message me saying something about dreams tulum or I may not accept your friend request

We had about 30 people at the wedding and I was able to have a budget of under $12,000 including everything (our trip, pre wedding party costs)

Laura Ash, Did you email your photographer? I emailed several a few days ago and still have not heard back from any. Also, do you happen to have a copy of the flower guide still? There is a copy on page 1 , but I don't have enough points to download it. If at all possible could you please email it? (enjoythepartykm@aol.com) did you do a tequila tasting for your guests? When I asked about a bonfire,Landy said they don't do them but suggested the tequila tasting at $15 a person.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
