Hi. I couldn't find the info on max number of guests at long tables v. round. She must have told me that in person back in December.

I pm'd you today about the 2009 guide...I cannot attach anything in a PM, so send me an email and I will forward it to you. I sent you my email address.

First, I want to apologize to every bride who is looking forward to their wedding at dreams- and my little rant about how the weather sucked etc. I am so sorry. I was a bit tipsy when I wrote that as my fiance and I were drinking tequila shots in the lobby waiting for Natalia right before I came down to go online!! so so so sorry, because the wedding was absolutely wonderful.

I did bring an email from Aurora quoting us the 2009 price, which is $100 less than the 2010 Ultimate wedding price. HOWEVER- I didn't even think of the raised tax/gratuity, they did charge us $150 for set up, plus another $3 pp set up ($135), plus $105 extra for champagne that we didn't have. I didn't realize no one had champagne until after we paid, I was asking some of our guests, then found out we didn't have it!! I've read on here to be careful when paying, but I think I was so nervous/upset about the wedding I didn't even care at the time. What is another $300?? lol

I have good news.... it was SUNNY and EXTREMELY HOT for our wedding/cocktail hour. They did move the reception into the el patio restaurant because of the fear of rain (they asked my fiance what he wanted to do, and he chose to have it inside), and thank goodness he did because there was another heavy rain storm about an hour into the reception. This past Saturday was beautiful weather, and yesterday (sunday) was beautiful sunny skies as well.

Again, I am so sorry for my post when I was down there...the wedding ended up being absolutely beautiful and amazing.

I used the photographer Samuel Luna- he was GREAT. But I won't get my pictures back for another 6 weeks. I have pictures from the welcome dinner and photo's taken from my camera I can post here.

Just not sure where to put my review and pictures?? Could somebody please let me know how/ where I can start writing this?

Thank you! That is wonderful to hear...I really wanted the long table and 36 means that my group will fit!

So happy to hear that in the end things worked out well for your wedding and reception. I guess you're glad you didn't get those floating oil candles. :) How was the decor at El Patio? The one at Dreams Riviera Cancun is gorgeous...the lighting is perfect.

Can't wait to see pics and read your review. Some people gave Northerflasher tips on how to do a planning thread/review here: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-thread-58623/

The wedding review section is a sub-forum of the fourth forum (Share your wedding/engagement story). You need to put pics in photobucket and add the links where you want pics in your review. To start your review you just click the "new thread" link. I'm pretty sure that's how to do one. Hope this helps.

xo,
t

That's wonderful news, I'm so glad you were happy with how everything turned out. Every bride deserves at least one rant under those circumstances.
I found it easier to get my images uploaded and resized in photo bucket first and then write a draft version of my review in my blog, you can also insert your photos here and then just copy the whole thing over once its finished. The only thing to be aware of if you do it this way is that each draft blog will only accept 4 photos so you have to do several drafts depending on the length of you review. There is probably a much easier way but this is how I muddled through it!!
Can't wait to read it and see pictures

Hi! Thanks for the directions, I'll be sure to do this ASAP. Yes, I'm glad I didn't get the floating candles... the relax pool is huge, I would have had to buy a lot of them. I did however, buy LED lite cubes- they looked awesome on the tables, like sparkling stars on the tables... plus everyone loved them when they were a bit tipsy!
El Patio was great. My thoughts- the best two places at Dreams Tulum to have a reception would be the seaside grill and el patio. I love that they're covered but still open to let the fresh ocean air in. The pools were very windy when I was there- but then again, it was also monsoon week =)

    • Hi Brides! I have a Wally Bag - 66" available - $90 + shipping (US only) The wally bag typically sells for $120-$180. I used this gown bag once to transport my dress from MN to Mexico for our wedding - IT WAS PERFECT!   I was actually able to pack 4 additional maxi dresses, and my husband's wedding attire, plus a few pairs of shoes and some jewelry. I packed the dress the night before we left, and just moments before we left, I zipped the bag and folded it - ready for travel. It comes up with a nice over-the-shoulder strap, making it really easy to carry through the airports. No issues on Delta with the bag as my carry-on - I chose to put in the overhead bin, but the flight attendant did offer to hang it in the closet for me. Once we got to the resort, about 10 hours after I first folded the bag, I unpacked the bag and my dress was perfect - no wrinkles! My dress was mostly lace and had a bit of a train, but it arrived perfectly!  Honestly, this is the best way to travel with your dress!
    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
