oh, and thanks for all the flattering comments on our wedding photos...it really was a magical day for us :)
Thanks Neen! Its really easy, I went to wedorama.com and they walk you thru it...however I know I got 50% off...and I believe I saw the coupon code (months ago) on theknot.com. If you search the web for wedorama coupon codes you should be able to get a discount too!
GOOD LUCK!

Yay, another June 29th couple! We had heard that there are 3 weddings that day, including ours :-)
For the reception location: even if you've submitted a request, the location is not confirmed until 1 month prior to the wedding. Only the location of the ceremony can be confirmed so far in advance. I was told it tended to be based on the timing of the weddings as much as possible. We'll see!
Are you having problems with being told the resort is fully booked up? We were unable to get 10 gardenview rooms because it will be so full, apparently. So we reserved 5 gardenview, 4 oceanview and 1 oceanfront. Didn't expect it to be so busy in June!!!
Chanti~

I learned that there are 3 weddings our day when I tried to change my time, that's also when Anabel told me that I couldn't reserve the reception spot until 2 weeks before the wedding. I'm sure anywhere we end up having the reception will be great! My family is starting to have problems getting the cheapest rooms.....but our travel agent is awesome and is getting them an upgrade for the same price :o) I just hope the hotel doesn't fill up...cause some of our friends are procrastinators and won't book until the last minute...LOL

We got 4 torches for the fee, but I would suggest not getting them if your reception is on the beach or close to the beach. The wind at night is so strong that they blow out every couple of minutes. Our waiters were so good about scrambling to light them every time they blew out but we told them not to bother.

Welcome back dollbird and congratulations! Will you be posting a review and pics?

Hi Everyone...I just wanted to let everyone know how helpful it is having this thread as a tool throughout the wedding planning process. I've seen so many great ideas posted here and learned so much about Dreams Tulum and how weddings are run there. I haven't chatted too much on here, and I'm just in the beginning of the planning process, but we've booked our date at DT for November 20, 2009!! Can't wait!

Christina

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
