My reception was at the seaside grill and my candles wouldn't stay lit. They were floating candals, and they were sitting near the top of the vase. If they had been lower in the vase (i.e. sheltered) I think it would have been fine. so if your votive holders are high enough maybe it will be okay. Maybe you could test outside on a windy day (or inside, in front of a fan) to see how your candles hold up in your holders? The LED ones are a good idea but definitely much more expensive.

Hi Ladies, just wondering, has anyone used the house band at Dreams? When my parents did the site visit Landy had said that they were very good, but I haven't seen them mentioned at all on here so that leads me to wonder. My mom is being pretty insistent that we have live music at the reception at DT, especially since a band back in NY for our home reception is like 10K!!! Has anyone used the band or heard the band? I don't want to agree to this and have it be a disaster!

I had this same question before leaving. You pay a % fee whether it's traveller's cheques or cc. If you pay by cc, they charge you in pesos, so they will take the quotes dollar amount (in US$) and exchange it to pesos, and then your cc will exchange it back to US$. I was worried the resort would use a poor exchange rate to charge me for the wedding fees, so I decided to use traveller's cheques so that I was paying the advertised prices. But really, I don't know if that's better, that's just what I decided to do.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
