I actually bought it on Ebay... it was kind of expensive, but totally worth it! The little lantern lights up and everything! I may be selling it soon, so be on the look out :)

I have a travel agent who is following up with the $20 menu for me I am also emailing the resort to see if I will get the same response as the TA will receive on the menu.

If this isnt happen ($20 menu) I also do not want to spend the extra money on additional pp 112 is alot to spend pp. Has anyone thought of having a dinner in one of the restaurants than having a private event for 3 hours? I know it takes away from the reception but it has crossed my mind? Anyone else having the same feelings?
Mccrary-

While I was there, we did see a "free option" reception at the World Cafe. There were about 30 pp in the party and they had 4 long tables set up in a square for them and the cake set up next to it, etc. I think it would definitely be something for people to look in to esp. since it sounds like they have cut out the $20pp restaurant menu option.

OK now I'm even more confused. What is going on??

I asked Aurora about this yesterday (I asked her about the free package and paying for the $750 private reception fee and then $20 per person for ordering off Seaside Grill menu) and she got back to me today and she said:

"If you get the Wedding In Paradise is necessary to pay $750 usd+tax for private event and $35 usd+tax+service for set menu Seaside Grill subject availability and is possible to get it if you have 40 or more people.

Thanks Amy. I think that they have been overwhelmed by all of us asking about the $20 dinner option...and since the 2010 planner doesn't really "say" that you have only the silver and gold dinner options for a reception, they are coimg up with a plan b. :)

I was wondering if any of the 2009 brides had a copy of the 2008--2009 planner...i would like to compare the verbiage and see if anything is really different. Every time i click on one of the links for the 2009 planner, it brings me to the BDW homepage.

I got another email from Aurora today and the timing was so bad. I just got back from shopping and I'm a bit stressed. It's down to the crunch and I'm spending money like crazy. I didn't even consider the costs associated with make up, drug store items and incidentals like the limo. My FI wants to make me some comfort food but considering I just lost weight to fit into my dress, he can't win today. Thanks for letting me vent.

It is just over 2 weeks away and I am still having people get tickets and all I keep thinking is $$$$
I know what you mean. I've been so calm now I feel like I'm crashing. I'm only have 20 people including my FI and I so it's not going to be expensive. I just keep thinking how much much I'm saving by not getting married in Toronto.

Aurora also mentioned in her email that if I wanted the $20 menu I would have to have an indoor reception at the Italian restaurant. It's a really nice restaurant so it's something you should consider. My girlfriend had her reception in the wine cellar of the Italian restaurant and it was lovely. She only had about 25 people so not sure if it's an option for you.

Thanks for the calm and listening to me vent! :)

I had seen some lounge furniture from EW Cancun and really liked the look it gave the beach/reception area. I asked Natalia which I guess is my WC (used to be Aurora-not sure what happened there, but what it is) to make sure they where ok with EW Cancun as a vendor, seeing as everything is changing with what is allowed/changed and what isn't for 2010, etc.... and she said they could do the lounge furniture. Of course she didn't quote me a price, but she sent 2 pics. I can't send them to you bc they are in a different format (or I wd post them here). I will try again when I get back to my PC at home. If you are interested, I am sure she will email you the pics. :)

Hi Ladies:

I am a Noob and am trying to catch up and review all the information provided. (Thank you to all that have posted information on here, it is certainly valuable information). My fiance and I have stayed in Dreams resorts and since we need a kid-friendly resort, we decided to have our wedding at Dreams. I have a question to all Dreams Tulum brides:

Did you perform a site visit prior to deciding on this resort?

What made you choose this resort over Dreams Riviera Cancun?

Are you planning on providing transportation to your guests from the Airport to the resort?

Thanks,

Vanessa

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
