THey serve their drinks in tall plastic cups. No bottles unless you are inside

Hi everyone. Here are the responses I got from Natalia:

we would like to do two long tables and one short...see attached image...is this possible? The Set up that you like is allow Only if you have maximum 30 guest, if you are going to be more that this number need the set up need to be with round tables.

we are currently set with the free package...what would be the cost per person for a set menu from one of the restaurants ($750 set up fee + $20 pp? + tax)? We need to ask to the Wedding Manager, normally with the Free packages you need to pay the usd 750 plus the Golden or Silver menu, not the set up menu in usd 25pp.

can you please send us the set menus that we can choose from? We will ask to the wedding manager, normally you need to take the Silver or Golden Menu.

we would like to have the tres leches as our main cake...can we have a larger piece that we can cut? In the Free packages apply the stándar *cake. Is it working for you??

for the time of our reception, could we do floating lights in the pool? You need to bring you own floating candles. We donâ€t offer it at the Resort.* *

if i had my own flowers, do you have any glass vases that i could use ... see images for sample. i need to know what you have and the cost so i can purchase the imitation flowers. We can rent you the glass vases,* we have it available* like the first picture, each one is usd 15.

what is the cost for setup of the reception? Between 2-50 guest the cost is usd 150 plus 11% tax..*

if we did the reception on the beach...where could we do this and what would be the cost? See Previously. *

could we do the set menu from a restaurant on the beach? (ie. $750 + $20pp + tax) See previously.

what is the cost to have bonfires on the beach? Bonfires is not allow, we cancelled it.

if we were on the beach area near the relaxation pool...could we have lights strung up from the trees? Yes you can bring *your own. Extra cost apply for setting up usd 150.

Note: Please take the note that all ratas need to add with usd 11% tax.

Hi taranyc- thanks for her responses... so I guess this means that if you have the free package, and want to use the set restaurant menu for $25pp, we'd only have to pay $150 set up fee?? hmmm....

I asked Aurora (my wedding planner) if I could use the set menu for $25pp with the ultimate wedding package, and she told me that I would have to chose either the gold or silver menu. I am just getting more and more confused every day... yikes!

My question- "We purchased the Dreams Ultimate Package for May 21st, 2010- We would like to have our reception at the dolphin pool, but rather then having the gold dinner menu for our guests (approx 40 guests), could we have our guests order off of the regular pre-set menu for $20 add'l per person?"

Auroras answer- ***Is necessary to pay the $65 usd+tax+service for the Golden Menu for the guests over 20 included in your package.

Sometimes I wonder if they just don't understand what we are clearly asking in our emails to them. If you read the first page of this thread it states that other brides have had both the silver and gold packages but downgraded the meals to $20/pp in order to save money. Unless they changed everything on Jan 1 of this year, I am going to assume that things remain the same. That you can have the ultimate package and choose either gold, silver or $20 menu. What if you don't like any food on the gold menu, they really wouldn't let you choose other items? Plus for some brides, they may have booked here because of the cheaper costs, and now that they will be forced to spend upwards of thousands more just for food, that could have changed their initial decision to choose this resort. Seems very unprofessional. But like I said earlier, I just don't think they really understand what we are asking and once we get down there, everything should work out smoohtly (crosses fingers!).

Hey Oceanwonderland, I hope you're right, but I just got a clarification email from Aurora stating again that this wasn't an option any longer for 2010. She' telling me that I have to order from the Silver or Gold menu. She said I understand you're trying to save money but this is the policy as per the 2010 wedding guide. What a buzzkill having to spend so much $$ just for food. Again, I hope things are different when we get there, but I wouldn't count on it girls!

it almost makes more sense to just pick the package, then, if they are going to make us choose from the silver or gold dinners anyway, then.

also - does anyone know what the $800 dance floor fee is for?? If i am getting one of the dreams of love package, but i also want dancing at my reception, do i have to pay for that?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
