The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

Recommended Posts

Cant wait to see some new reviews on here, i've been MIA for a while but I cant seem to find any recent reviews since I was last here!!!

I have a question regarding contracts. A few of you have mentioned receiving contracts or referred to making sure your choices for certain things are in your contracts well Im getting married in 4 months, I booked way back in early 2008 and as yet I have not received anything resembling a contract.

Other than a confirmation email in 2008 when I first booked and another confirmation reply approx 3 months ago when I forwarded our travel details I have had no information other than what I learn here from you girls.

Q. Should I be worried?

Q. Do I have to request a contract?

Q. Based on your experience when should I expect to receive a contract?

Q. What kind of info should be in my contract?

Q. When I booked in 2008 I was not required to pay a deposit and still have never been asked for one, is this possibly why I dont have a contract?

Thanks Ladies. X

Wow, I'm glad the recent brides had such good reviews - I am considering this resort too!

If anyone has any recent pics, it would be great if you could email me! onyemao@yahoo.com

Also, what kind of rates were you able to secure for your guests for November? I was thinking of next June, but the quotes are rather high. What is November like? Thanks

alice.

Northern Flasher - I wouldn't worry. You will receive an email from your wedding coordinator 4-6 weeks in advance of your date with a "contract". It is not actually a contract, but a questionnaire you fill out where you specify your choices on things like food, reception location, etc. Also you give them your guest count, arrival info, etc. And you can pretty much change things when you arrive and meet with your WC as well. You don't get a contract until you actually sit down with the WC and see the costs written out in front of you.

Aliceo - my guests mostly booked through Apple Vacations in the US, and paid $665 for five nights or $770 for six nights (not including air). We booked air separately, as guests were flying from different airports.

Hope this helps!

WOW, crazy, no reviews for like 4-5 months and now we have 3 brides coming back at the same time and promising reviews.

YES, this is the perfect way to put it, I 100% agree. It's all what you make of it. Dreams Tulum may not be the best choice but it is a very very good one.

I want to thank everyone, especially SunBride and Blkatz for all the information that was shared here!

Congratulations! I hope you come back and write a full review, I'm sure the future brides would love to hear more about the things you wish you did differently. I know for me, the best way you can thank me for the help this provided you is to write a review to keep the good karma going and help future brides.

Hi girls!

I'm still fairly new to this site. I think it's amazing! Everyone has such great ideas!!

Quick question about a sound system. I've notice some people have been using an ipod dock and that's been enough and others have been renting the sound system for the ceremony and reception. We have about 30 people coming to our wedding. Do you think it would be fine to just use our ipod dock or is their sound system worth paying for?

Thanks guys!! and I can't wait for the new reviews!!

I have a promo code - AAZZ20 to receive 20% off! So I am getting 200 magnents for @ $160!! What a STEAL!! I am attaching my final boarding pass pic. I have the template in Photoshop, saved in layers, so you can personalize it for yourself!! I can't download it to the site (super large file), but feel free to PM me and I will email it to ya!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
