Hi Ladies- I'm curious what the wedding day itinerary looks like. Our ceremony is at 3:00pm. Should I assume that the cocktail hour starts at 4:00, and the reception at 5:00? I'm wondering if a 4-hour photography package (2:00 to 6:00pm) will be sufficient to capture at least a bit of the reception dinner. Thanks :)

I think that is up to you. My was supposed to be on the same time line as you and I was going to get my photographer for a little longer. My thought was I wanted a lot of pictures of us all over ther resort and with my family and a lot of the girls said that they walked in late to the cocktail hour. I would also assume that your guests will not immediately go to the reception at 5 pm...some might still be hanging out where your cocktail hour is...just my 2 cents

This is what I am planning....my ceremony is supposed to start at 4pm after that I will be taking pics with my guests, family and then some solo shots of me and my FI around the hotel. My photographer said to block about 1-1.5 hours for the pics, so my cocktail hour will start around 6 or 6:30 (i want to go to it which is why i am starting it late) and then the reception at 7 or 7:30. As for your photography package, that is completely up to you. I have a full day package so I don't need to worry so much about the time.

I would take money away from your flowers and/or decorations. Flowers are sooo expensive. I am thinking about taking my own silk flowers because of the bouquet costs. You can also take your own table linen, chair decorations etc. Those are my thoughts for keeping the costs down :)

I have a question about costs too. Has anyone talked to their WC about negotiating prices/haggling? I ask because we want to book the ultimate package but we aren't having a legal ceremony so I want to replace those costs with a few upgrades. I want to haggle my way through all the costs! hehehehe.... If anyone has had an experience with this I would love to hear it!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
