The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

so sorry to hear about your accident, hopefully everything heals quickly. I broke out in a nasty rash on my face a month before the wedding, luckily the only scars I had left by the wedding were under my chin so I was okay.

For the pools, it's definitely not private as it's an open area and people can walk by, but generally people don't hang out around the pools after dark, so basically you will probably just have people walking around nearby (not right next to you) as they head to the restaurant or move around the resort but they won't be right there.

You ask if it's important to upgrade the menu or do a private cocktail hour, it totally depends on you. If it was me, personally, I would go for the normal restaurant menu and informally gathering at the bar. I would prefer to spend my money on other stuff (photography, mariachi trio, etc). But I know most of the brides do want the fancy 5 course meal. You have to decide what's important for you.

Most people don't use the photos in the guide, they either bring their own photo or just describe what they want to the coordinator.

You will only pay extra if the types of flowers you want are more expensive for them to get.

Look on page 1, under the flowers section, I have included a list of all the common flowers that they can get for no extra charge (and which colors).

My email: Natalia, My wedding has been set for November 28, 2009. I am in the process of booking our airfare and would like to confirm our arrival date of Wednesday, November 25, 2009 given the Thanksgiving holiday and weekend. I will be having a symbolic ceremony and getting married legally in the U.S. It is my understanding that with the symbolic ceremony we only need to be in Mexico 3 days before the wedding (weekend and holidays day are allowed).
Well I also received a response regarding advance arrival and all I got was,
" Dear Barbara:
If your wedding is symbolic we need that you arrive 3 days in advance.
Have a great day!"

Aurora was ver adamant about us arriving 3 Business days... Negotiate if you feel you have to. We are technically arriving 2 business days and 1 holiday before our wedding date (which doesn't count as a day).

What size lanterns did you use?

LED Throwies

Here are a few more pics of our dance "floor" again, I wouldn't change a thing! DT positioned some of the lights from the Seaside Grill that provided some additional spot lighting as well. Sorry about the quality of the photos they were taken with my brother's blackberry..but they give you an idea.

Thanks! I'm keeping it pretty simple and probably going with mostly roses so I'm hoping to get something close to what I imagine. I just have to figure out what colors I want.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
