Wow, your pictures are stunning!!! They do such a great job!!

Can anyone provide any info on the transfers from the airport to DT? We have a transfer included with our package, but it isn't direct (we'll drop off other Apple Vacations passengers at resorts along the way). We can pay $30/person extra to have a private direct transfer. Any experience? Is this necessary, and what is the time saved do you think? Thanks for any advice!

We also went through Apple and paid the additional $30 for the direct transfer. I would definitely recommend it! It took about an hour and 15 minutes to get straight to the resort. We did have to wait for a little while at the airport b/c the Apple shuttle doesn't leave until it's full (it holds about 8 people) and they have a list of the guests they are waiting for from incoming flights.

A few of our guests (who also went through Apple) did the regular transfer and only stopped at one other resort. However, another couple who went through our TA to DT said it took them over 2 hours to get to DT from the airport b/c they stopped at a number of resorts.

For me, it was worth the extra $15 each way to know I'd get there as soon as possible!

definitely pay the extra money and do a direct transfer. If you go direct is is about an hour and 20 minutes-I have heard people not doing direct and it was closer to 2.5 hours. We did American Express and it was great. I have used Olympus before also and they were very professional

OK, thanks for the info, I think we will go with direct/private transfer! After travelling all morning, I will just be wanting to get to the resort!

Tisha - you fly into Cancun, and have to purchase the transportation separately. Some tours or packages include the transfer, for example Apple Vacations does.

Thank you maggie:) I was hoping it was Cancun Airport cuz the flights there are so much cheaper! Are you using a TA that is getting this packaged transportation for you?! Are all of your guests planning on staying at DT? I am still debating betweeen DT and Occidental Grand Xcaret because of location?! I just dont know if it would be worth being closer to the city to do stuff there since there is so much to do at the resort as it is....? Any suggestions welcome:) Thanks!

Hey Amyandrich--

I was thinking about organizing/paying for an excursion for my guests, too. The cruise sounds nice--! have you decided on that? and on an operator?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
