This is strange....
We have the Ultimate package, getting married in 17 days. Maybe it's a new requirement for weddings taking place as of a certain date? We were told "no need" when we asked about a deposit, and that we'll settle the account when we check in. I hired Luxe Destination Events and the wedding coordinator there, Lisa, is the one who has been in communication with Aurora, our wedding coordinator at Dreams Tulum. I just left Lisa a voicemail asking why we didn't have to put down a deposit when other couples are being asked to do it. Very weird indeed!

I looked in the wedding guide of 2009, and it is does state new payment policy and deposit, perhaps when you booked it was not required at that time. I do believe that the $500 will be deducted from the final balance. In any case, you shouldn't have any problems! Your wedding is already all planned! Good luck!

Don't forget to write a review and post some pics for the rest of us anxious bride-to-be's!!!

Take care!

Jessica

Hi everyone,

I'm about to book my DJ for the reception, for those who had DJ Mannia, how long did you book him for?

He sent me the contract and it states for 4 hours of work, is that enough time?

I know that according to the wedding guide, outdoor receptions must end by 10:30...is that really true? I am asking because my ceremony is at 3pm, so I'm guessing my reception will start around 6pm, the DJ will play from 6-10? What about the rest of the time after that?

I am in the process of trying to decide exactly what I want my centerpieces to look like and I was wondering if anyone had any problems with the resort not being able to get different types of vases. Do they give you any options or did you have to bring your own?

Hey there, this is the standard timing apparently, our reception is 7-10PM. We're only 14 people though, so didn't hire a DJ. Not sure how possible it is to have the reception time extended. We're just planning on hoping over to the disco with our guests who are not too exhausted at that point!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
