Ok...I am trying to figure out the whole music thing. To have the speakers and microphone at the ceremony is $150, then another $150 for the reception? Now what if I still want to play music from my Ipod during the cocktail hour? Do I have to pay another $150 for the speakers then? I don;t think I really need the speaker for the cocktail hour but the Ipod Docking Station would be enough. BUT if I am having the coctail hour on the beach anyway...I imagine there will be music there anyways...nohuh.gif?

Any insight or advice from past brides would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!

Hey Denise, we were married last week and they wanted to charge us $150 for the ceremony AND $365 for reception speakers!!
If you want to hook your iPod up to any of the speakers they charge you through the nose sad.gif If you utilize your iPod docking station there is no fee.....it is my understanding that the cocktail hour is part of the reception and thus the reception fee applies. Crazy I know!

I was so focused on my DH, sappy I know....I didn't notice anyone looking. My Dad had mentioned that there were "on lookers" but it still felt private. We were so focused on eachother and our guests that I didn't notice...share the love! wink.gif

I will try to attach the packet that we sent out with our Save The Dates. You can easily modify it to be a Welcome Packet by removing the information about travel and inserting information about activities and stuff that the hotel offers. We just had them printed at Kinko's into booklets and they came out great! I hope this helps! (We also had a cover page with a picture of Tulum on it, but I can't find that document.)

Hi Nicole,

I am getting married on December 12, 2009 at Dreams Tulum and was wondering if you could send me the packet you sent out with your save the dates? That would be really helpful!

WELL LADIES..

I talked to Natalia via email. She said the date I wanted is available but now only at noon. I HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR A WHILE NOW and I totally got screwed. UGGGGHH! I have to have a 3pm-ish wedding because I want it to flow into night for my reception. I am sooo bummed. I guess Ill go on to my 2nd requested date and hope that one works. GRRRRR

On a good note: I am happy to say I have EVERYTHING underway! Bridesmaid dresses, colors, centerpiece idea, invites narrowed down, a few dresses I CANT wait to check out.. and even my programs. CAN WE SAY SPAZ? hahaa

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
