The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

Recommended Posts

Oh yeah, you may also want to start a seperate thread in the mayan rivera subforum, something like "best time for a wedding in June" or "weather in June" or something like that, as you will get more responses this way (since it's not something specific to Dreams Tulum, this way you can get opinions from way more people, and probably even some of our vendors who live there will answer you)

I was doing some research on the weather as well since I will be at the end of June (the 23rd) It said that the high will run around 90, I have been to Mexico several times and it gets cool at night so I wanted to do it after 4pm. I really wanted to wait to see my FI for the first time walking down, but I live in Texas as well and I know what happens to my hair and makeup if I am out in the heat for awhile. As you said you are used to the heat and really 90 is cool to us in the summer but your guest from Cali might not last....lol they have differnt kind of heat all together in Cali!

I do kind of like the idea of doing it in the morning and having a brunch type thing, and then giving your guest a break and meeting up for the reception....both ideas have ups and downs. You will hav to decide which is best for you and your guest!

As I'm doing all of this planning to try to nail down a date I remember reading somewhere that we need to be in Mexico for a certain number of days before we can get married ... but did I also read that we have to be there a certain number of days if we're just doing a "ceremony" ... we'll get married here right before we leave. Thanks! And is this rule per resort of per Mexico?

OH and I also got the DVD of the Ceremony. It was not cheesy at all. I got to see parts of the ceremony I didn't see cause I was behind Seaside Grill waiting. I also got to really see the expressions of how my Hubby looked when I came down the aisle- as well as my guests. I think if you do decide to do the Ultimate Package dont trade the videographer for something else. Keep it. It is a memory of your vows and you can hear the waves in the background!! I also got to show it to family and grandparents who could not make it. Oscar also asked me what music I wanted and he used our first dance song and another I really liked. Anyhoo just my opinion

have you tried asking the coordinators?

For renting I don't know, but to buy you could go to Wal-Mart in Playa del Carmen.

You still have to be there a certain number of days before a symbolic ceremony, to give them the chance to meet with you and do all the planning. I forget the exact number of days (it's on page 1 under the "ceremony" section).

So I sent Anabel an email about having a cocktail party the evening before the wedding and she finally sent me some information.

Its basically just like the cocktail party included in the wedding packages... So its $20 per person per hour and it includes drinks and appetizers. Just thought I would share the information that I received in case anyone else has the same question.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
