The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! It's coming down the last few weeks and I had a quick question regarding the size of tulle that everyone ordered for the beach gazebo?

I'm on the website that ya'll referred: Tulle Fabric , but don't know what size to order...do I get the large ones, 54"x40yard or 2 of the 60"x10yard? Will this be enough?

Thank you :-)

Questions...
1. Can you exchange for anything if you are not using there photo or video?
2. Do you know where the best place to meet for a group of about 20 for a dinner rehearsal/meet and greet?
3. How did a lot of you carry your extra decorations and favors from your homes to the resort?
1) Officially know, but they have been known to be flexible. I wouldn't say they will exchange for anything, I think most people have been most successful at getting more photography or video, but I don't know about exchanging it for something completely different. I would say don't count on it, but if you are successful consider it a bonus.

2) Depends how much you want to pay. If the answer is nothing, then your only choice is the buffet. If you don't mind paying a 20$ per person service charge (for regular menu) or 55 or 65 pp (silver or gold menu) you could have a dinner at any of the restaurants (since your group is only 20).

3) You get your guest to bring some and/or just pay extra. Don't ship stuff in advance. It's a pain and expensive and people have had trouble with getting stuff through customs.

Welcome! I do sometimes think I should try to get a job with Dreams. I'm sure I've helped them get a TON of business with this thread :)

Tammy has asked us not to donate points, but don't worry, if you start participating you'll get some soon

Nobody has ever asked that before, you'd have to ask them. But if you want to make the trip you can probably save a ton of money by picking one up yourself in Playa Del Carmen, maybe at Wal-Mart.

FYI LADIES!!!!

So I just got a call from one of my best friends that the resort is totally booked!!! I just called my mother in law who is a travel agent and she confirmed this. I am shocked because I never thought it would fill up like this in the 1st week of May.

Any suggestions

You should send her a PM, I'm sure she'll reply. Most people get emailed notices when they get PMs so even if she's not on here she'll likely see it.

Has your group booked? I assume most have but there were a few holding out for last minute sales?

I guess guests will have to stay elsewhere. Tulum has a lot of hotels, but no all-inclusive resorts. The 2 all inclusives that I can think of that are pretty close are Dreams Puerto Aventuras (very close if I can remember correctly) and there is the Bahia Principe Tulum/Akumal/Coba which is I think like 10-15 minutes away and fairly popular and the same price range. Your guests would need day passes for the wedding and any other events (welcome dinner, etc) though sad.gif

It's probaby not the whole week that is booked, but just a few days (the weekend). Maybe they could stay at Dreams Tulum for a few days and then go to another resort for a few days. That way they are still with your group for part of the vacation.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
