Thanks!!
I had plastic stadium cups made and as cute as they were, they didn't really get used that much at the resort. DT serves their drinks in nice sizes and plus our guests would just forget them. So for what its worht, you could probably invest in something else. Although i think people liked having the cups as a keepsake anyway. GOOD LUCK!

I can't believe the upgrades are that much!! I called my TA and she told me not to worry that she personally knows the GM at Dreams and that she makes sure she calls down and talks with him and also has them put my wedding party down as VIP's. So if you have a TA I would call them and see what they can do for you to get you some upgrades for cheaper. She did say however, if she couldn't get everyone upgraded she had me give her a list of who is the most important. So just a thought.

I will be flying out of Toronto, Ontario. I see two girls have already had some luck securing rates and I was just wondering if it would be okay if I contact you for more information.
Another question I have is did you put your deposit down for your wedding package prior to booking your triphuh.gif I am afraid reserving a day in February and then the prices being too high for this resort. Not sure if they would be fairly flexible at moving your date after you paid the deposit. Or if anyone knows if you decided not to got with them if you would receive your deposit back for the wedding package. I only wanted to pay at the most $2,000 taxes in per person, is that realistic flight and hotel for a week?
I think 2000$ per person is definitely do-able, especially from Toronto. The only time it might be challenging is Christmas vacation. But for February from Toronto I would guess you will pay anywhere from 1500-1700$ per person including taxes.

Try out some other TAs. It's not true that it's too early, many people make their reservations a year or two in advance. Why don't you try contacting one of the BDW TAs? See the banner above. Tammy Host is the host of the forum and a TA in California. There is also a TA from Canada (but I think the U.S. TAs can help you too).

Any advice, recommendations, reassurance, etc... to share?
The best advice is just to check out everything on page 1, and then read through all the reviews! There is so much useful information there.

Hey Beth,

I had a similar response from a woman by the name of Karina. Her first quote was that it was going to cost $60 US/night to upgrade from a Hacienda deluxe gardenview room to a Dreams Suite gardenview room. Since I know that SunBride was offered this upgrade for $20 US/night, I responded and said that I was very appreciative of her time, but her price was too high for what I had heard other people getting for their upgrades. She wrote me back immediately and dropped the price to $40 US/night. I wrote her back again and told her that I would let my guests know, but I still thought the price was high (and thank-you for your time). My TA called Daniel (she met him once doing a site visit) and she told us that my FH and I are going to receive a free upgrade. I'm still crossing my fingers that we'll be able to get a better upgrade rate for our guests, but we'll see. I'm a little worried that the resort is going to be really busy that week, since there seems to be lots of weddings going on. Good luck with your negotiations and keep me posted if you get anything better!

Hey ladies, I downloaded the text of the civil ceremony since my FI and I are having a legal ceremony in Mexico, but does anyone have a template for how they changed it to include their own opening addresses, vows, etc? I would like to have fan programs printed up, but I am having a hard time trying to figure out where I would fit in the judge's part. We have a couple books with ideas and have found some things we want to go with, but like I said, I am trying to figure out where the official part would go. Thanks!

Hi Nicole,

I've also been curious about that. I have vows that I'd like Mike and I to say and I was also thinking of writing an opening address (which I think perhaps Landy would deliver - not too sure). I'm a little uncertain as to how to organize it just yet, but I was thinking of adding our vows after this line:

"Both of you should be aware of the great responsibility of being parents, because you should provide your children with attention, good example to follow during the rest of their lives."

The other possibility is adding our vows after this part:

"___________________________ ¿ do you accept _________________________ as your beloved and wedded wife, _____________________________ ¿ do you accept ___________________________ as your beloved and wedded husband."

I'm not really sure, so I'd love to hear your input!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
