Thanks girls that helps a lot! I'm scheduling hair appointments for 12:00 and my MOH is going to arrange some type of food in my room when we get back to do our makeup and then hopefully I can get the resort photog to the room by 3:00.

What do you do in the morning to keep busy? I think I will be up so early that day! Hopefully my girls can entertain me!

All the pictures and positive reviews are so reassuring! Congratulations!!! On another note, as some of you know, we have been having issues with my FH's family and their attending our wedding. They had never mentioned to us the possibility of not being able to attend ($ reasons) when we first started discussing this, and so therefore we went ahead with the planning process. Turns out, there never was any possibility of them being able to afford it. So now, in addition to his best man (twin brother) dropping out a few months ago (at least BEFORE we bought his families plane tickets) his parents have now dropped out too (and we are possibly out the airfare). As of this moment, his sister (a bridesmaid) and her daughter (our flower girl) are still coming, but given the fact that everyone else has dropped, I won't be suprised if she does too. I am really trying to focus on how beautiful everyones weddings have been, and on the fact that they will be with us in NY for our AHR, but it is seriously stressful to my FI and I, and has been causing some "disagreements." I have offered that we pay for his parents, but he refuses.... what can you do? Anyway, keep the positive stuff coming! It's helping me look forward to our beautiful wedding!

Okay, REALLY weird question for people who have been to the resort and had drinks there. I am looking for advice for items for my OOT bags. I'd like to get customized koozies/beer huggies, are they worth it? Do they serve beer/drinks from cans, bottles, or cups? Just want to make sure if I get these that they can be used. :)

Thanks!!

They serve the fun drinks in nice fancy plastic glasses. Beer I can't remember, but definitely not bottles (dangerous if people break them and leave them around on teh beach). I brought mugs and nobody used them, but I'm sure some other people would get use from them, just not my family.

Here is an example of how a daiquari was served on the beach

I know I have other pictures, I can try to remember to post them later

Okay, so here might be a weird one.. I am having more people planning on coming to the wedding than I originally expected. Call me cheap or what have, but I honestly didn't plan on some of these people wanting to even come.. so here is my quesiton.. For the cost of reception, do you have to pay for up front, like before you get to dreams, or is this something that the WC discusses with you. Also, are you allow to have a different number of guest at the reception than the wedding.. (55 at the wedding, but 35 at the reception).

Hi everyone, I went from being a "Secrets Maroma Beach" bride to a "Dream Tulum" bride during the week! Now I have to start all over again (my research RE: best building, which rooms to request, upgrades, wedding packages, etc...) so I'm feeling quite stressed out! Any advice, recommendations, reassurance, etc... to share?

Hi Girls,

I am fairly new with this website. However I have also decided to go with Dreams Tulum, for February 2010, however I am having trouble obtaining pricing the two TA I have consulted with, they say its too early. I will be flying out of Toronto, Ontario. I see two girls have already had some luck securing rates and I was just wondering if it would be okay if I contact you for more information.

Another question I have is did you put your deposit down for your wedding package prior to booking your triphuh.gif I am afraid reserving a day in February and then the prices being too high for this resort. Not sure if they would be fairly flexible at moving your date after you paid the deposit. Or if anyone knows if you decided not to got with them if you would receive your deposit back for the wedding package. I only wanted to pay at the most $2,000 taxes in per person, is that realistic flight and hotel for a week?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
