Beth, thank-you so much! I feel like it's getting down to crunch time and I need to start getting more organized. This planning sheet will definitely help me out! How come Natalia sent this to you already? Do they normally send it a month beforehand?

Can you believe we'll be getting married in ~4 months!? Craziness!

I was wondering if anyone had suggestions or a template for their welcome packet? I am sooo not good at computers and thought I better get started on mine. I saw one on here a long time ago but can't seem to find it anymore.

Thanks!!!

Hey everyone! I can't believe how time has flown by. My bridesmaids dresses JUST came in last night!! Now I need to ship them to my out of state girls and hope they can get alterations in time.

I know BC Bride2be is getting married the day before me...maybe some of us girls can meet up for a margarita sometime. Anyone in? I'll be there from the 20th to 30th.

Now that the day is quickly approaching, I have been bombarded with questions from friends and relatives that I cannot answer. I was hoping some of you girls could help me out!

1. Did anyone use the electronic safes in the rooms to store your passports, ids, money, etc.?

2. My fiance and I would rather bring stuff down in boxes, rather than in suitcases, so that we don't have extra luggage to bring back with us. Has anyone else done this successfully? Will we get haggled by customs more if we take everything in boxes?

3. Do we need to make reservations for any of the restaurants? Or can you just walk in with a small group? Dress codes--I think I heard something about having to dress up for a few of them. Is this true?

4. If anyone brings their own curling iron/straightener, do they need adapters for the electrical outlets? I was thinking not, but just checking.

And then one question from me--

5. I recently saw a list of flowers on this forum that some resorts in Los Cabos has, but I didn't see anything specific to Dreams Tulum. Does anyone remember some of the different flowers they have (besides what is in the packet--roses and lilies)? I know exactly what colors I want (green, purple, and white) and have a few options ready for when I go down, but was hoping I'd have a better idea of what the florist can do before I leave. Do they have peonies, ranunculus, or hydrangeas? I think I saw someone write in a post that they have dahlias. How much more expensive is it to have some green cimbidium orchids in the mix?

That's all for now--but I'm sure I'll have a few more in another week or so!

Thanks everyone!

Hey girls,

Quick question for any of the recently married brides. Have any of you been given a hard time about honouring the 2007-2008 wedding guide prices? I have an email from Lizet telling me I can have the old pricing, so hopefully everything will be OK for my wedding in May. Just wonderin'!

Ok ok, one more question:

Regardless of which wedding package I choose, will I have to pay for a set-up fee for the ceremony and/or reception? I know there was a post about this a couple of days ago, but I'm still a little unclear. We have 53 confirmed guests (and counting), so this could start getting a bit pricey! I guess I was under the impression that the set-up was part of each package. If anyone can clarify, I would really appreciate it! Thanks a bunch.

wow lots of questions!

1) yes I used the safe for our rings, money and my 15" laptop just fit in (not sure if a 17" one would)

3) you aren't allowed to make reservations at Dreams Tulum, it's all first come first served, which can be good because you can be more flexible, but some guests complain of long wait times. We ate out as a group of 10 four times and each time my dad went to the restaurant like right as it opened (or even 15 minutes before) to make sure we could get a table together without havign to wait an hour or two. So that arrangement worked for us.

4) No adapters required, electrical outlets are the same as ours.

flowers:
I don't remember peonies, ranunculus, or hydrangeas being mentioned to me, but that doesn't mean they aren't available. Not sure about orchids but other brides in teh area have said orchids are crazy expensive to get in mexico.

Thanks- I just used the resort photographer. I did "hire" two of my guests who have nicer cameras to take tons of pics and send them to me as a wedding gift :)

Also, congrats on the MRS. Neen and have fun in Mexico!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
