Amy, I think we have the same bridesmaid dresses. Is that a Jasmine?
YES! It is a Jasmine from the B2 line, I think?!? What color did you get!

Oh and my mom actually carried on my dress. They put it in the first class closet. They said the toughest part was putting it through security. it got a little smooshed going through the security thing... Oh and nothing broke in my suitcases. I wrapped it all up.

congrats Niels408!! can't wait to hear all about it and see pics

so excited to hear i don't have to pay an extra fee for DJ Mannia - that made my day.

new question - the iPod docking stations in the rooms...are they standard iPod docks only or will a mini/nano work with them? FI and I both have Nanos and Minis, but no regular size iPod so I need to know if I have to borrow one or if ours will work...we're using it for our welcome cocktail hour a couple days before the wedding...

also - if we have a big group going to the ruins, how do the taxis work? will the resort call a certain number of them? will there be a taxi line at the ruins for when we're ready to go back to the resort?

thanks ladies!!!

PS - I'm FINALLY getting really excited (and really stressed) :)

Neen, there are always a handful of taxis just waiting at the resort. You can also ask concierge to call in some additional ones if needed.

I'm not sure about the ipod. I have a regular size one and it worked fine. But for our bonfire, I bought one of those ipod docking stations from Walgreens for 10 bucks. I loaded batteries in it and it worked wonders. The ipod docking station in the rooms isn't too big but in my opinion a little bulky and not sure if you can remove to take around the resort. I don't remember it too much but I think it was a combo ipod/alarm clock kind of gadget.

Hi ladies.

I have a TON of updates to do to the beginning of the thread as I haven't been submitting them to Carly (our DT mod) for the past few weeks as I haven't had the time to get it organized and write out the instructions for her on what info goes where. But I will get to that soon!

As part of the updates, I went though a bunch of reviews to put together this info to add to the DT brides detailed list. I assume this type of info is helpful for brides who want to read about another brides specific info (either a reception location, or review of the resort photographer) but doesn't know who did what. It's so helpful when people write reviews so I want to make sure the info is being used by new brides, especially since past brides usually aren't around to answer questions.

I only post these post-wedding details for the brides who actually write the reviews. So here are all the ones that posted reviews after me (the links to their reviews have been there in the short bride list ever since they were originally posted, but only now am I putting together the little summaries).

To all our recent brides from the past few weeks, can you do me (us) a favor and answer the following questions? It will save me from going through the review to find the info:

I just told them a few hours before that I would need about 12 taxis at 1:30 that day. It was no problem at all. Before I left i organized $14 and put them into 12 different envelopes and just put people in cabs in groups of 4 and asked them to ride home together too. it gave people the flexibility to come and go as they pleased. it worked really well actually. i had someone at the ruins who bought tix for everyone and handed them to everyone when they arrived. There are a ton of taxis lined up to take people leaving the ruins so no worries on that end either! yay! so fun! I miss planning:)

My ipod nano worked on the ipod docking station!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
