Hey Amy I have a quick question-how did you get all of your stuff down there? I just got my travel candles and they are heavy...I know someone mentioned something about customs-do they go through your bags? I was just thinking about packing an extra suitcase with all the crap I am bringing down

Amy, I was wondering the same thing as Beth. Did you have any problems with your stuff? Did anything break? Did you carry on your dress? How many suitcases did you end up taking? Was there an additional charge?

I personally checked 4 bags, gave one to my mother, one to my sister and two to my DH. I went to Marshall's and bought 3 HUGE duffel bags for 10 bucks each. Yes, they weren't the best quality but they helped get my stuff down there! And then I just stuffed them into another suitcase on the return. I received lots of gift before we left and saved all the bubble wrap so I used it to wrap my more delicate stuff. Everything went great, nothing broke and we got a green light at customs so it wasn't an issue at all. As for my dres, my mom and I sat in first class on the plane and i was able to lay my dress on an overhead compartment the flight attendant reserved just for me. I've heard others do the same so you shouldn't have a problem.

Hi Ladies- I packed 4 huge suitcases. i weighed them at home beforehand to not exceed 50 lbs. and my FI and I each took one extra big bag (our airline internationally allowed 2 checked bags less than 50 lbs at no charge) and then I had two BMs each check 1 add'l bag for me. I checked their airlines as well and had the same policy. We made it through customs fine. My MOH got stopped and they questioned her. They asked for invoices on all of the stuff and she was able to talk her way out of it. So heads up that it's a possibility! Check your airline about international flight baggage policy!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
