The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! I'm a newbie and planning my wedding at Dreams Tulum for June, 2009. I'm just wondering if you guys all faxed Landy your credit card authorization form with a pic of your credit card and ID for your deposit? I'm a little iffy about that cuz I'm a little nervous about sending pics of my creditcard both sides! And also did you email it to her or did u guys fax it? Please reassure me that this is normal and everything will be ok?! :)

Thanks!

Hi Ida,

First off, welcome to the forum! You'll find tons of helpful stuff, thanks in great part to our wonderful SunBride who organized this thread!

As for credit card authorization, I have to admit, I was never asked to provide this. Mind you, I booked my wedding last March so perhaps they've changed the booking procedure. When I asked for my date to be reserved, all I had to do was fill out an information sheet and email it back to Landy. I didn't have to provide my credit card number (or an image of it) and I didn't have to place a deposit. Perhaps some of the brides who have recently booked can shed more light on the issue. Good luck!

You have to pay extra for the chair bows, unless you bring them yourself and in that case, they will put them on for free as part of the set-up fee.

If you bring your own overlays, they will put them on the tables for you for free, as well.

The COLORED napkins are (i believe) $3 each. We are going with the plain white napkins for no extra charge and will be bringing colored menu cards to add a punch of color on top of the white napkins. So for us the cost of adding colored napkins isn't worth it...

Hope that helps!!!
I have never heard of having to pay a 250$ fee before. I thought chair covers for the ceremony were always free with any of the packages.

There has however been the question about chair covers for the reception before. Somebody asked the same questions as you, i.e. do you have to pay for the reception chair covers? Do they use the same chairs as the ceremony? I donâ€t remember if we ever got an answer to that.

According to the price list on page 1, the napkins are 4$ each (I think they used to be 3$ in the old guide).

The deposit policy is new, they started taking deposits sometimes this summer. Only the brides who have reserved since then have had to put down deposits. There are a few brides on this forum who have mentioned they had to do it, but none of them mentioned how. So this is the first I hear of having to sent pictures of your credit card and id.

Thanks for the feedback ladies! :) Rebecca i think i'm going to email my scanned pics too. The authorization form is in PDF so i couldn't type in it and i thought i had to print it out to fax it. I'll figure it out and just email everything. Thanks!

I'm planning my wedding for Thursday, June 25 at 6pm because it'll be the last wedding of the day. And also because my photographer says it would be the best time for pics and the sun doesn't set until around 7:30pm in June.

Speaking of ceremonies...does anyone have the text the minister uses for symbolic/religous ceremonies? I'm working on the ceremony program but not sure what the order is and what the minister will say.
Also, has anyone gotten a response from ANY WC about details and such. I leave in less than two weeks and have several questions but they (as usual) don't answer.
I have emailed Landy a few times to firm up last minute details and no response either...My sister leaves on Tuesday!! Well Nancy the tour lady in the lobby has gotten back to me quickly. So if nothing else we have a private snorkal ATV tour we are going on on Sunday. I have also tried to email the photographer and he in the past got back to me in less then a day and he hasn't responded either.smile105.gif

I think my dad has this somewhere I will look for it. We found a website that had a ton of detailed info on the restaurants, it wasn't a Dreams site we googled Dreams Tulum restaurants. Food was very important to us as well and while I can't remember all the menus exactly it was all wonderful.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
