jerzygirl85- when are you planning on having your wedding? If its high season or low season makes a difference.

My wedding is Dec 5th and most of my guests got a rate of about 110 or 120 per person per day. Not too shabby for all inclusive!

i made my reservation with Capt Ricks and yes, they have been wonderful, but just wondering if their rates are really reasonable in the end...i know nothing about the average cost to charter a private boat for 8 men, but we're paying $850 for a full day, which includes all the gear and tackle, capt and first mate, lunch, and the boat/trip of course. They also arranged transportation for the guys from DT to Playa where the marina is for $120 total. Seems like $1000 is a lot, but maybe that's just what it costs? any idea?

also, would the guys be expected to tip the captain after at the end of the day?

lastly, they said there is alittle convenience store right there next to the marina/office where the guys can buy beer (and Capt Ricks will provide a cooler with ice)...which is good to know :)

I am thrilled because I got my group contract in place for our guests rooms today and I also finally decided on bridesmaids dresses! So I am in love with the colors of the dresses but am having a difficult time thinking of what colors to have for the wedding. So if anyone has any suggestions... I would love them!

This is the dress link: (you might have to copy and paste the link)

Style MS215 | Priscilla of Boston and the color is french blue ( and without the bow on the back).

Thanks everyone!!!

Neen-a $1000 is not that much for a fishing charter. FH is a huge fisher and I have seen people charge per person about $300-400...I dont think you need to tip the captain at the end of the day-I guess my question is, are they going to let you keep the fish? If they do I wonder if DT will let you cook it.

HA! What a coincidence! That is the exact same dress my bridesmaids are getting!! I also fell in love with it immediately after seeing it online. I, too, am leaving the bows off...they snap on and off easily.

Have you seen the dress in person yet? I tried the dress on in a boutique and the french blue is just a teensy bit lighter than in the pic online (of course every reem of material could be slightly different, so maybe it was just that dress) Also, the material doesn't swing the same way it does in the vid (it's more of a typical satin bridesmaid material).

Nonetheless, it was BEAUTIFUL in person and will flatter every body type--as well as super easy alterations as the bust line is the only fitted part!! I ended up going with the french blue, but struggled a bit because the three other colors that I absolutely loved were the "dandelion", "meadow", and "nectar" (all pretty beach colors). Congratulations on finding your dresses! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
