The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

Recommended Posts

I am sooooo frustrated! My June wedding date was available Monday and today it is not! I was waiting all week for a reply from Landy or Lizette, so I decided to call and was told my date was unavailable and that almost all of June 2009 is full!!! I can't change my date because the date means something to us, so now I have to change resorts!!!! Just venting! It took me too long to decide on Dreams so now I am where I am. Argggggggggggh!

Hi ladies,

I just want you to know that now that we can only edit our posts within 1 hour of posting them, it's become really hard for me to update the info on page 1. The only way to do it is to PM a mod. This is very time consuming, as it takes much longer to explain to them what to do then it did before to just do it myself. And I used to update page 1 almost every day, mostly the bride list section but other parts too. The fact that I can't edit it any more is very discouraging. Anyways, this is why I haven't posted the info of the newer brides this week. I am debating how to move forward - keep asking the mod to make changes or just stop completely. For the few months after my wedding I loved spending a lot of time on this forum, but in the past month or two I've been spending less time on here. I still come on a couple times a day for a few minutes, but PMing mods to make changes takes up more time than that.

Sunbride,

All of the work you have done thus far has been phenomenal. It has been so helpful to all of us who otherwise might be pulling our hair out due to unanswered e-mails and phone calls by Landy & Lizet. I think it would be very selfish of us all to ask you to continue to invest so much valuable time PMing Mods. After all, you are still a newlywed yourself. You should be spending time with your hubby. If you choose not to continue, I think we all would be sad but would understand. You've done so much already.

It could never be said enough..... Thank You!

Hey Ladies it has been a couple of days. Sunbride I too want to thank you for everything you do for all of us, you have definetly gone above and beyond!

I have actually been able to get a lot done in the last week. Invites have all been mailed, finally decided on shoes and have orderd and been told by the bridal shop that they are in! Here is what they look like Benjamin Walk Corporation

also got more stuff for my OOT bags, have found pantd for my FI, GM and ring bearer all to wear.

Overall the list of things to do is getting smaller and I still have so much to do!

Close!!! I am getting married on May 7th. I'll be in Tulum from May 2-9. Then it's off to Europe for our honeymoon! smile72.gif May just doesn't seem that far away anymore, does it?!

In response to another post I read, I'm so bummed you can't get the $20 menu at venues other than the ballroom (or $18 in my case since I've been told I can have the 2007-2008 prices). I'm still hoping that I'll be able to have my reception at the Seaside Grill but I wasn't planning on spending $45 a person! I wonder if I should try emailing Landy/Lizet and asking again. I know it sounds sneaky, but sometimes I get the feeling that they say one thing to one person, and then something completely different to someone else...

Speaking of wedding shoes (this topic was brought up a few posts back), here are some ballet slippers that I really like and available to order in both the US and Canada: Satin Ribbon Tie Ballet Slippers - Bridal Ballet Slippers - Decorated Ballet Slippers - Fancy Ballet Slippers. You can get them dyed in off-white and ivory, too. I think they will go perfect with my dress (Paloma Blanca | Wedding Gowns, dress #3754 in the collection).

Ok, my bad, this isn't really a "Dreams Tulum"-related post, but I couldn't help myself! smile105.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
