The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

Recommended Posts

Okay so here is the question that came to me at 2am this morning:

Has anyone else gotten married before you left for you wedding? My FI and I keep throwing the idea around since our witnesses are not able to arrive until the day befor we get married.

Thoughts?

Yes, we are doing that as well. I did not want to fuss with the blood tests and people being there x-amount of days before the ceremony.

We will still consider the Mexico Ceremony as our official wedding day.

By the way...this is the email I got two weeks ago:

Dear Bride & Groom

As the great day is approaching I may need to ask you to fill out this planning form in order to start and set up details for your wedding.

Find attached the pictures options of the flowers and wedding cake options too.

Thanks a lot in advance for sending this planning form filled out before September 8th 2008.

Has anyone waited until they get back from the honeymoon to actually do their "legal day?" I sort of want to wait until after the religious ceremony to do mine. Also, has anyone actually planned their Dreams Tulum wedding without the help of a Travel Agent? The one I am currently in contact with is...dare I say...slower than the onsite WC at Dreams!! I'm getting responses faster than her! =P

My fiance and I are waiting until we get back for two reasons. 1 I just really want it to feel like the real thing when I walk down the aisle/beach and 2 we are getting married in Dec. Its so close to the end of the year that it just makes sense to wait until January to do the legal stuff b/c my fiance makes a lot more money than i do and i might as well wait one more year to be taxed at his tax bracket. Nice reason, right? Ha!! Anyway, we're doing it a few weeks after we get back. I figure if we did it 'legal' in Mexico it would take several months to be legal in the US so its still quicker!!!

Well to answer two questions with one post... It does seem easier to get married before you get to Mexico - but I just as well want the actual walk down the isle to be THE ACTUAL walk down the isle of becoming a Mrs...I hope to not regret that choice with all the details that wil need to be done in the 4 days before shots.gif

Secondly- I planned and reserved the trips for almost all the 29 guests that I have coming through Cheaptickets.com

I got the best prices - better then my mom who is a travel agent was able to get and it was very easy to do even for people that are coming from other countries such as Ireland and Africa - so I would strongly suggest checking them out for all your travel arrangement needs.

For transportation from the airport I was able to find a great deal on a van - $180 both ways for as many as 8 people so that's awasome and I would be glad to share that with anyone that needs that link.

My FI and I are renting a Jeep Wrangler there so I was also able to find a great deal on that - $150 for 10 days there and I would be glad to share that link with anyone interested also.

It's only 28 days to the wedding and 23 days till we leave so I am quite excited that I think almost all the arrangements are on their final leg smile72.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
