The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

Hey girls... I just wanted to know if the resort provides the music for the ceremony or if we have to bring our own.... If any of you used the resorts music, is it nice? And if any of you came up with your own do you mind sharing what you chose to walk down the aisle to and what played after you were pronounced husband and wife... and of course any suggestions you might have..

Welcome Laura!

I understand you are wanting a date the first week of may. I would suggest you keep your options open, because my wedding date is May 5, 2009 and when I booked the date this past March there weren't many May dates available. I believe maybe 5 or 6. Not to discourage you, because I would love for you to be DT bride, but keep an open mind,

By the way ladies, I recently realized I'm getting married on Cinco de Mayo!!! Has anyone been to DT during this time? What kind of activities do they offer to celebrate. I think it would be awesome if there were fireworks that night that my guests could enjoy.

I'm going to try and add my pic soon.

The resort has a CD with traditional music you can play during your ceremony. They will set up a CD player for you. But, you can also create your own CD and take it down with you. We are hiring a violinist and are compiling a list of music for her to play during the ceremony. One that will definitely be on the list is "Ave Maria". I love that song!

OOOOHHHH, and I was able to put up my avatar. It's of the dress I finally chose to wear!!

Cinco de Mayo isn't really celebrated in Mexico. It's more of an American holiday ( I know, wierd ) that was created by beer manufacturers to "sell a party". The mexicans won a battle on Cinco de Mayo but didn't gain independence until Sept. 16. That's when they are given a holiday and really celebrate! But who knows, maybe the resort will put on a show for you to cater to the American tourists who expect something.

Yes the resort can provide the music but they probably don't have much selection. They provided Canon in D for me (I was going to get the Caribbean trio but after watching another wedding that just used the speaker with Canon in D I decided to do the same) to walk down the aisle (and back with my husband after). I burned them a CD for a song for the signing of the certificate and 2 songs to play in the background during the toast and brief chatting afterwards before we started to take pics.

Hi!

If you go to the Dreams Website, under Entertainment, Special Events, you will see a list of Holidays that are celebrated at the Resort...

Cinco De Mayo:
"You will enjoy a complete day and evening of Mexican hospitality, traditional music, games, bright decorations, exciting games and live entertainment. The day will be topped off with a starlight barbeque dinner on the beach including a traditional Mexican celebration which features lots of Tequila of course!

Lucky You!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
