Brooke,

If Landy can save the Tulle for a couple of weeks I would love to use it. Also, I would be happy to pay for a portion of the tulle if I am able to use it. I just saw some Tulle Chair Bows at Organza Sash. The bows end up being less than a dollar each.

What were you planning on having for the gazebo? I was thinking of something similar to SunBride's ceremony. Adding that bit of tropical pink makes everything looks so good!

Let me know what you think....

Theresa,

Thank you for the review and posting your pictures they were great!!!

I am a little worried about the photographer. I am using the Resort Photographer but am now having second thoughts. I was going for a very relaxed atmosphere and wedding but I hope I am not making everything too relaxed!

FYI...Landy finally responded back to me about exchanging services. Since my brother is officiating our ceremony, I was not going to need their minister service, which comes with the Ultimate Package. I asked Landy if I can exchange the minister service ($450) and get the Sound System Service for my iPod ($150) instead. She replied that they normally do not exchange services but would make the exception...score!

Carina I am also planning on using the resort photog and am a little nervous. We have some amateur photographers that will be with us so I'm hoping they will capture everything if the photog misses it.

Thanks for the great review. Every one helps us even more!

Whose wedding is up next??

I will make sure Landy knows to save the tulle and any of my other decorations that you might want to use, I am leaving most of it down there. I am going to post a planning post soon, so I will have pics of everything I have. No need to pay for any of it, I was going to leave it anyway!

I am going to do the same gazebo set up as SunBride. I really like the organza chair sashes, and they are actually on sale now! I bought two rolls of the smaller tulle for bows, but whoever sets up will have to tie them. I would just need to order 3 packs of the bows...I'll have to think about that one, I might just keep the tulle I have and let them make the bows. Either way, I'll have them. How many will be at your wedding?

Tiffany,

Thanks for your post, you have actually made me feel better about keeping the resort photographer. I'm sure everything will come out great.

Brooke,

That sounds great, thanks! I have 30 ppl coming.

Also, if anyone needs to buy sun parasols, I bought some at Party supplies, crafts, party decorations, toys: Oriental Trading. 3 for $15 plus S&H. Or if you live close to San Franciso, you can find some in China Town for about $4 each.

and the cost was $55 per person. I got the Gold Menu. The new guide now states that it is $65 per person.

Landy told us that wording meant over 50 people, but we said that in USA it meant 50 people or less. She called someone while we were there and they said we could do it without paying for the diff of 7 people. In addition, we also had all 3 entrees as listed in the wedding guide, where now the buffet menu has changed. This is the new Golden Buffet menu
Golden Buffet Menu

Salads

Grilled vegetables antipasti with basil oil
Mushrooms Bruschetta with fresh tomato
Shrimps Cocktail with spicy mango dressing
Fresh lettuce salad with parmesan cheese

Soup
Asparagus cream with parmesan cheese grissini

Main Course

Beef medallions and mushrooms in red wine sauce
Fish rolls with shrimp and lentil ragout
Chicken Escalope marinated with fine herbs
Truffle potato Soufflé
Eggplant napoleon with baked zucchini
Rice with vegetables

Desserts

Sacher cake
Blueberry mousse
Amaretto Cake
Fruits napoleon
Thanks for answering the question about the buffet--yes, I have always noticed their wrong wording--nice that they made that adjustment for you... wonder if they would for others.

In regards to the photographer, he took great pictures, he just wasn't around long enough. Be specific about what you want and make sure he takes them all. The wedding packages do not mention how long the photogrpahers will be around for so maybe ask Landy as well. Also, not sure what we were thinking, but we didn't tip him up front. We did everyone else, but completely forgot about the photographer. So if you throw some money at him that may help as well.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
