Not sure if we will be charged a day pass but even so...I think it's about 80 bucks so it should be doable.
I was considering having cupcakes delivered too but instead chose to have a candy buffett. Another bride on this forum had cupcakes delivered to a another resort, very near DT, and she said it was great. The vendor name is turtle bay cafe and if you do a google search you should be able to find them.

we're thinking of doing a candy buffet...have to check the budget though.

a candy buffet is when you set up a table with lots of glasses/dishes/jars of different candies (jellie beans, licorice bits, etc) and have your guests scoop up their favs into a little baggie to take home/back to their room. you could do candies in your wedding colors, or all different colors, or your favs...its a cute idea and guests really like a sweet treat to take home. I think DT would be happy to provide a bunch of different containers to hold the candy on the buffet at no charge, but you'd have to buy the candy yourself at one of the markets when you get to Mexico.

Speaking of which...does anyone know if a private transfer would be willing to make a quick stop at one of the supermarkets/stores in Playa Del Carmen on the way to the resort. I was thinking we could throw the driver an extra $20 or something to make the pit stop...?

ALSO - is anyone doing a fishing trip? I heard Capt Rick is a good one to go with, but I have no idea which boat to choose. I sent them an email today...will let you know what they have to say. Its almost $1000 to rent the charter for the whole day (less for half days), but I KNOW some of guests are coming just so they can go fishing in Riviera Maya :)

neen-I LOVE THE CANDY BUFFET IDEA!! Thanks for clearing that up for me! I have so many ideas for my wedding I just don't know which ones to pick :)

We are planning a fishing trip-FH is a huge fan. The kind of boat depends on how many people you are having.

Photos are not allowed at the ruins sad.gif, but there is a replica that near the airport that a bride took some photos at that I thought were pretty nice. Other than that, you can't get any TTD photos taken at the ruins.

Thanks for the info Neen. Could you elaborate more on the ballroom terrace/patio you mentioned? Would you happen to have any pics? How many people would fit there? etc.

My fiancee and all the guys are doing a fishing day with Capt Rick's as well. The best man was in the Mayan Riviera this past spring and went on Capt. Rick's and he said it was one of the best fishing expeditions he's been on. The size of boat depends on how may people will be going.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
