The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Here's a question that I don't quite have the answer to:

Does anyone know the (approx.) capacity of the Seaside Grill? We are a group of ~50 and would also like room for dancing (we are rowdy!). Will we be squished?

(this question, of course, totally depends on whether the resort is less than 70% full for next May, but just curious as it's becoming one of my front runners)

I think you'll have plenty of room for dancing. There are quite a few of us with 50+ guests who are having their reception at Seaside Grill. What they've done in the past is divide the restaurant in half to accomadate the tables and the dancing.

Yes, 50 or so would fit really nicely inside the SG. They typically use 10pp tables so you can set those up around the perimeter and have the center for dancing. What we've decided to do though, if weather permits, is have the dancing just outside the seaside grill on the pooldeck next to the pool bar/footbridge.

Special arrangements / activities (i.e. welcome dinner, special set-up, anything that's not the norm)Not sure if its out of the norm... But we did have a mixer thing happening the day before the wedding. I was hoping to get all of our guests to go on a joint excursion. I know of a really neat cruise that takes you out to either Cozumel? or Isla de Mueres? were you can swim with Manta ray.

Thanks Blkatz and Chandrathebride, I'll add your info.

Keep it coming ladies. I'm hoping this info will help you guys when you are looking for somebody who did something particular. We get a lot of questions like "has anyone done X?", "what time is your ceremony at" or "how many guests does everyone have" or "who has used the resort photographer?" and so my thinking was that the detailed bride list would help answer these questions. Also, there are so many of us, i know I sometimes get confused by who is doing what so this can help us remember that, and also direct certain questions to certain members.

I'm adding two new questions since these ones also comes up often - which wedding package did you use and what did you add to it? and Type of ceremony - civil, symbolic or religious (I know symbolic and religious are kinda the same idea, but I think there is still a difference because symbolic is done by the wedding coordinator, whereas for a religious one you would get a minister or something like that to perform the ceremony)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
