The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

Recommended Posts

I'm getting married October 19, 2013 at Dreams Tulum and have a few questions for everyone (this has been an awesome resource by the way- thank you!)

1) Did you find it to be too dark on the beach without lights ?  I'm not sure I want paper lanterns but I want the guests to be able to see what they are eating. Also, did you find your paper products (menu, placecards etc. blew away? I really want a small/intimate space but I refuse to pay for another extra (aka the wine vault room) and I feel like the banquet is way too big for a group of 20. Also, would you be able to hear the ipod music on the beach if we went that route (were not renting a dance floor - more of a dinner setting)?

2) Anyone hear the romantic trio? Would that be suitable for the ceremony?

3) Anyone have a decently priced photographer willing to do a one hour shoot? We don't have it in the budget for two photographers and Dreams Tulum will nto let me opt out of using theirs. I have already contacted Del Sol, Sascha Gluck , and a few others - none of which are willing to do a one hour shoot (just the ceremony and a first look shoot for the  bride/groom. (Dreams Tulum would shoot the rest).

Thanks,

Shauna

Hi fiddle!

i don't think you'll have trouble getting in the mexico, just have it out of the box and without a price tag. Customs are any concerned with ppl reselling stuff, and the obvious guns, drugs, and explosives. Also FYI, I've heard that some brides will use the docking stations from their rooms, just be sure to bring batteries. Not sure how loud they are though...

Hi Kristin! I found this for you. Not sure the info is up to date but it might help, there are a few emails for rollers in the area:)

That was my concern- this one is supposed to be loud- FI is researching... Seems like their sound system is such a rip off, if I can have this and have it forever! Thanks for your answer!

Hey everyone,

We leave in just a week!!! i do have a question for the music. We rented the sound system, did most of you just bring a cd with you or how did you get the music to play with their sound system. I do have an iphone, could i put the songs on there and bring a cord to connect to their speakers?

Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
