We had about 30 people at the wedding and I was able to have a budget of under $12,000 including everything (our trip, pre wedding party costs)

Thanks for all the great information! I keep going back and forth about getting a photographer or using the one on the resort. Your photos were beautiful!

Hi Dee Dreams! Usually when you order paper lanterns online they are just the paper lantern and you will need to purchase either a light bulb cord or LED lights to insert in the lights. Unless you order the battery operated paper lanterns (usually quite a bit more expensive). For my lanterns I believe I am going to order these. As I am getting married 2 days after you I won't be able to tell you how well they will work? http://item.mobileweb.ebay.ca/viewitem?itemId=130575976544&index=0&nav=WATCHING&nid=59945558779 I plan on putting 3 in each lantern

deedreams,

We ordered our paper lanterns off of ebay and I love them. I used 2 different site stores, one is called sunboy_zhang and the other is called wangleisky0000 (I dont actually know if this is the store name or the username....Im sort of ebay stunted ha ha) I ordered ~50 assorted sizes and white, blue and orange and it was all relatively inexpensive, about 50 bucks!! and no shipping which is the best part :)

We ordered just the plain paper lanterns and bought a big value pack of LED candle lights from Jysk, they flicker and look really good in them. Depending on which type of lanterns you get will decide how the lights go in. Ours has a holder for them in the middle, its the size of a tealight so the LED candles fit perfectly. I think Im going to glue them in or tape them just to be safe though.

Hope this helps!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
