If anyone is bringing lanterns down, how many are you using? Or if you have used them in your wedding same question. We are having our reception on the beach and I got 10 big white paper lanterns and 10 small orange ones but Im starting to think that may not be enough.

I don't even remember where online I ordered mine from - Paper Lantern shop maybe? About $50 for 26, including shipping. I ordered LED lights from eBay (100 for about $10) and then 100 watch batteries for $10, also from eBay. I bought a box of binder clips at Staples to hold everything together, handed it over to Anabel and she assembled everything - she knew exactly what I had and said she'd done it many times before. They do charge a flat rate of $150 to set up the lanterns, but to not have to do it myself was GREAT. The ones with the lights already in them are much easier to set up, but are also more expensive. It's a trade off.

I ordered my paper lanterns off of ebay from sunboy_xhang store....they are fantastic. I ordered the 12' white and 8' orange. Thanks Sheena2011 for the heads up, I think I am going to go and double my order to get more. As for LED lights, you can get them any where :) Ill probably end up getting mine from a store called Jysk or homesense.

Hi Dee,

From the photos I've seen, extra lighting would be good if you're not investing in the lighting they have available. My wedding is November 8, and I know the sun sets around 5:30 that time of year. I am planning on using lanterns and LED tea lights in luminary bags to light up the dinner tables - I have the same concern!! (And a modest budget, so I will not be splurging on their lighting.) I figure the lighting will double as centerpieces and help to set the mood.

Also - the plates from Dreams look amazing! I want to make sure my guests can see what they're eating :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
