The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

Hello!  I am thinking of waking down the aisle to somewhere over the rainbow by isreal k....  I think it is outrageous that they will charge $3 to pass out a gift,  so I am going to have my brisdemaids help me pass them out either on the beach or if we do a welcome dinner. I heard the girls are very good at doing hair!!

I have another question..... what is everyone doing for music during the ceremony? Are you sticking with "here comes the bride"? I just thought of this now. Also we are bringing down gifts for our guests. Has anyone had the hotel delivery the gifts. This makes me a little nervous as they may mess up names. They also charge $3 per gift. Also any thoughts on the spa. I am so picky with my hair and I do wear extensions. I am wondering if they would struggle with fake hair.

Thanks :)

p.s. Love that last picture in the rain. It is AMAZING!

I have 64 days to go. It is sneaking up on me.

Dee Dreams:

Sharing decorations/cost sounds like a great idea.   I will be leaving Mexico on November 25th (the day before your wedding, I believe) so we may just be able to meet and I can give you anything that we agree on.  I'm not sure about lanterns yet but I will hopefully be able to let you know in the next little while.  I am attending the Dream Tulum webinar this Saturday and I'm hoping to have some of my questions answered this week regarding reception spaces, which will help me determine what I might need for decorations.  I'll keep you posted.  I'm so excited that you're on here!

Hi! :)

I'll let you know what I find out on Saturday.  Is there anything you want me to ask for you?  When I originally registered for the wedding I wrote that we wanted the Dreams of Love package but my FH hubby and I think that in the end, we're probably going to go with the ultimate package because for an extra $800, we get a video, mexican trio, the gold wedding menu, and extra floral decor.  We haven't told the wedding department yet because we still have to crunch numbers.

Yay to November brides from Canada!  thewave.gif

Hi Ladies! I am also a Canadian (Alberta) bride getting married at the Dreams Tulum in November! (November 28, @ 4pm)

I would also be happy to share decorations! We will be arriving at the DT on Nov 21 but I haven't fully decided on what decorations I am going to be bringing. I plan so far on bringin fuchsia and orange paper lanterns, fuchsia chair sashes (which i plan on setting up myself instead of paying the $3 per chair set up price) and i'm sure other stuff as well! Still need something an idea for centerpieces though without them costing a fortune!

Let me know!

I was wondering if anyone has used the resort photographer? My FH and I have booked the ultimate package and were thinking about also purchasing the $1000 package from the resort photograper, has anyone used them or does anyone have an pictures from them that I can see?

Thanks!

We used them just for our rehersal dinner, and I found that anyone with a DSLR camera could have taken the exact same pictures, if not better. I found them really heavy on the posing - "please put your hand on her shoulder", "please touch your noses" etc, which I couldn't stand. Since I didn't use them for the wedding, I'm really not sure of the quality of their wedding pictures, but I know they have a website http://www.ilgruppodigitale.com/ that has some sample wedding albums on it so you can get a better idea if you like them or not.

The only question I can think of is where is the backup plan incase it rains :s , is it only the ballroom :s .. And I think I'm doing the dreams of love package but also thinking about the ultimate package because I don't really like the dreams of love menu . Also color I like turquoise and orange colors . Yay another canadian dreams tulum bride :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
